				 | In December 2006 I had to put Toby to sleep after having him for 14 years. I too live alone and he was my life. I knew I would get another yorkie because I love dogs so much. I waited five months to get Murphy, but I was ready to start looking for a yorkie after 2 months. My Mom lost her dog a few months before mine, and just last month started to feel like she is ready to get a new dog. So, I think you should listen to what your heart is telling you. Good luck!

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | SO sorry to hear this sad story. Your loss is a great one. I've never lost one so young, but losing a Yorkie at any age is tragic. I had to put our first Yorkie down at 11.5 (cancer). When I came home from work the very next day, the emptiness of the house and the lack of a l'il greeter was devastating. My mother couldn't take it and we were at a breeder's by the following weekend. That led to the discovery of the love of my life, Ozzie ... can't begin to imagine what my life would be like without him. Prayers for peace headed your way. Everyone is different. You'll know when it's time. |

				 | Welcome to YT! I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard when we go thru the loss of a beloved pet. Everyone reaches the ready point at a different time. You may be ready if you are asking yourself about finding a new furbaby. Or maybe you're ready to start talking with breeders. But just keep in mind none will be Bella. I once bought a Siamese from the same set of parents as one I had that had been killed, they were both beautiful wonderful cats, but very different

				 | Bless your heart, the loss of a furry family member is so devastating, no matter what the circumstances are. The pain will lessen and your heart will heal - in time. Then you will be able to smile when you think of Bellaluna and smile as you remember all the good times. Until then, my heart goes out to you and I'll keep you in my prayers. Hugs.

				 | I'm sorry for your loss I too, suffered a loss in January. Only it was our fourteen year old Lhasa Apsa who had to be down for she could no longer use her front legs. We tried all these different medications but they didn't work. Our two yorkies helped us heal and I think if you got a new one it would help you heal, too.But I would like to also tell you welcome!

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved baby. I lost Dixie in January from congenital kidney failure and the breeder gave me Roxie 2 weeks later. At first I didn't think I was ready but in no time she was snuggling and so playful it helped ease my heartbreak a tiny bit. If you feel ready, then it is the right time. I have lost my babies before and once waited one week and then I knew I needed to love another and got another one.

				 | I am so very sorry for this great loss... I have lost 4 yorkies in the past.. my first family are all gone.. I miss everyone of them so much.. but my getting another one only proved to me.. I needed so bad to hold and cuddle yet another baby in my arms..and to me it is an honor to a lost loved one to feel the need to have another one.. for it shows how much you loved the one you lost and need to fulfill your heart again.. you can never replace the one you lose.. but you can add joy to your heart and soul again.. I did.. and I will never forgot my past yorkies what so ever.. I think of them often.,. no two are alike.. but you soon love the new one for their own ways... I say fulfill that empty heart.. and do what you think.. not what others tell you to do.. also may I suggest you get a carrier with a saftey clip attached to the inside.. a harness then clips into it.. so they cannot jump out. and if they do and are wearing a harness they will hang out. but not get hurt or get away.. this is just a suggestion... I have learned over the years and lots was by trial and error... good luck and I hope you post on this thread if you decide to get a new puppy to love yet again....my god bless you.... and guide you in the right direction.....((((((hugs to you ))))))anne |

				 | I am so sorry for your loss. I can tell from your post that you loved her very much. Please know that you will not dishonor her by getting another yorkie. No, another yorkie will not replace her at all. In fact, yorkies are all so different that you will not feel like she is a replacement. I do know from experience that getting another baby to love will help to heal your heart . These sweet babies cannot help but put some joy back in your heart, My heart still aches when I think about the loss of my Cairn terrier Ginger, but these babies bring so much joy that it has helped heal me when I thought I would never be the same again.

				 | Belinda, I am so very sorry to hear of your tragic loss. I know how devestating it is to lose a beloved little friend. I will keep you in my heart and prayers. It took almost 5 years for my heart to heal enough to allow another Yorkie into my life after I lost my beloved LacieBug to a very rare brain disorder. Please, allow yourself plenty of time to grieve -- one day you will think of your beloved Bellaluna and smile -- that's when healing begins..... hugs to you |
