				 | I know the grief you feel. I have also lived with a sudden loss and it hurts still, but the good memories are slowly taking of the hurt. It has been 7 months since I lost my Bonnie and although I do have another yorkie Cricket, I am now thinking of getting another puppy...but not just yet...I am still in the "just thinking about it" stage. You will know in your heart when the time is right to get another puppy. Follow your heart. Sue & Cricket |

Ditto! I lost my little Yorkie boy on Jan. 2 of this year. The same thing happened to him. He bolted and was hit by a car. It was horrible. That very day, my husband said, "I'll get you another dog honey" I was offended, but he was only trying to help. He loved Peanut too. Anyway, just a few days later, my Dad called and said he wanted to get me another Yorkie, but to give me time, he found a breeder who's puppies wouldn't be born until later that month and couldn't come home until Spring. I couldn't help but be excited about a puppy and it really did help me. I still think about Peanut all the time. I cried the first day we brought Abby home, because I felt like I was betraying Peanut. It was silly. Abby hasn't replaced Peanut at all, I love her with all my heart though. Just a week after we brought home Abby, someone offered to give us Daisy. Her family was divorcing. So we now have 2 yorkies. As MyFairLacy said, everyone is different. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer than I did to get another Yorkie to love.

Thank you for your words. What a nice breeder to have given you a new pup after the sad loss of yours. One of my biggest issues is that I spent so much on Bella and my income is limited as I am building a new business so I really can't afford to pay some of the high fees that people/breeders charge for yorkies. That may be reason in itself to wait awhile. I would love a new pup this year. With God's grace I will be able to. | |

				 | I'm so sorry for your loss I too have lost a Yorkie girl, she was the light of my life and I (and my husband and daughter) were totally devastated. It just left such a huge hole in our hearts and lives when Starr died My husband insisted that we get another pup right away, but I never wanted to hurt like that again and fought him tooth and nail. Anyway, HE won and got Luna and I gotta say that he was right. Caring for her and keeping her tiny butt alive and eating didn't leave me much time to dwell on Starr's death, and helped me to remember all the good times with her, so that I could smile when thinking of her instead of bawling We now have Izzy also, because I didn't want her to be an only doggie like Starr was. I learned so much about caring for pups here, and there was SO much we did wrong with Starr, but of course we didn't have YT back then. Everyone is different, of course, but having a new baby to love really helped my heart to heal, quicker I think than if we hadn't gotten her. The only thing I'd suggest with your new pup would be to purchase a carry bag that has the little strap and clip inside that attaches to the harness so that they can't jump out. They should all have those, and I'd steer clear of any bag that doesn't. Not criticizing at ALL, as I'd have never known that either before I found this wonderful site! Welcome to you and I hope that as time goes by, your heart will heal
