In December 2006 I had to put Toby to sleep after having him for 14 years. I too live alone and he was my life. I knew I would get another yorkie because I love dogs so much. I waited five months to get Murphy, but I was ready to start looking for a yorkie after 2 months. My Mom lost her dog a few months before mine, and just last month started to feel like she is ready to get a new dog.
So, I think you should listen to what your heart is telling you.
