Thank you. Its nice to know others have felt the same way. Not being a dog or yorkie owner, its hard to understand the pain. Appreciate your warm sentiments.

Thank you. I am leaving the door open. I want to wait until her 1st birthday and have a birthday celebration party for her with friends in her memory. After that I will see what is open for me. After hearing from so many wonderful, caring yorkie owners, I feel better just leaving the door open. What a nice site!

Your babies are adorable. I appreciate your kind words. It is 3:30am CST and I have to be up at 7:00am. It was the first time since Bella died that I felt her prescence. She actually woke me up out of bed. I genuinely felt rustling of the covers and a running around all over the bed like she used to. I know this must sound weird to some but I was awakened from bed because it was so strong. I feel the love of all the people on the site has brought her spirit back. She must be enjoying hearing about all the yorkies out there!

When they are young you expect many years to go by before having to face death. On the day she died, I had planned for Bella to get groomed the next day to be in a fashion show. A local dog shop loved her and wanted her to be in it. We were then going to the humane society's local fundraiser after that. I had to call all these people the next day to cancel everything and I could hardly talk as I was inconsolable. Everyone was so nice and concerned. Many felt my pain and were in tears themselves. My parents who were not dog lovers before her, cried. I know time will heal. Thank you. | |

Loss Belinda, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have been there as well. I had to put down my 6 1/2 month old puppy, Merlin, due to a birth defect in his neck that nobody knew he had, until he stepped out of his little bed and his front legs became paralyzed. Even though I had his littermate, MacTavish, my heart was broken. One month later I got a baby girl, Madeline. Although no pup could ever replace Merlin, she did help to mend the huge hole in my heart. Linda

I have Bernie not even a month and I can't believe how attached and in love I've become with him so I feel such sorrow reading about your loss. In times like these I try to remember what I believe to be a core tenet of faith itself - that loses are only temporary - that our movement through time and space only briefly separate us from the souls we love - and only then because of the increasingly enriching experiences meant for us to have. Until you meet again, you'll have wonderful memories that only the two of you share. You'll also know when the time is right to let yourself enrich another little puppy's life with your love. Thank you for sharing your little Bella with us.

Oh baby....how AWFUL for you...that must have been just AWFUL!!!! I think you should get another baby. Your setup is PERFECT for a Yorkie as you can take it to work with you and be with it all the time. I have had 4 in my lifetime and that was not your fault. Each one is sooooooooo different and has a personality all it's own..so you will NOT be replacing Bella, you will have a whole new little person to make you happy. GET ONE.
