I have Bernie not even a month and I can't believe how attached and in love I've become with him so I feel such sorrow reading about your loss. In times like these I try to remember what I believe to be a core tenet of faith itself - that loses are only temporary - that our movement through time and space only briefly separate us from the souls we love - and only then because of the increasingly enriching experiences meant for us to have. Until you meet again, you'll have wonderful memories that only the two of you share. You'll also know when the time is right to let yourself enrich another little puppy's life with your love.
