| Never. Not even for a second. When we travel, and we need to stop at a rest stop, hubby takes one of the girls with him in her Celltie bag, and I take the other in her Celltei bag. Nobody even realizes we're carrying fur-kids. Cars get stolen in the blink of an eye, and while a car is replaceable, my girls are not. Sheila |

| I never do.......always bring the bag in case I have to run in some where that she's not allowed....but often do my errands without her because I don't want to have to risk it....... |

| If it is not to hot or too cold I will sometimes leave Lily in the car for a few minutes like if I have to get gas or pick up a news paper and then usually it gives me an excuse to stop by the pet store. I would never leave her if I could not see her from a window.

| No Way.. If I'm going someplace Cody James can't go then he has to stay home. It's not right to leave them in the car.. it could be too hot or cold outside. and you take a big chance of your window being busted out or lord knows what they will do to get your baby. |

| there are times when we have had to leave lacey in the car, we live far away from alot of places and when we do go to town i have to bring her if i cant find a sitter because she needs her meds and there is no way for me to get there and back fast enough to give her them. i have run into pay for gas and if we eat its usually in the car but there are times when we go in and order and then go out to the car. we really try to plan things so we dont have to leave her or one of us stays in the car with her but it has happened. we also make sure she is visable to us when we do have to go in.

| my furkids stay home. I don't have tiny ones that I can squeeze into a bag and besides for me its inconvenient. If I'm out for several hours I know they are home safe pooping, eating( hopefully not eating their pooping ) and playing. I also don't feel guilty for leaving them home because they have each other and 2 cats to torment. While people may feel the the OP comment was uncalled for, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you wouldn't leave a baby in the car , same goes for a dog, they cant defend themselves other than cry/bark. Whether you live in a small town or big city things happen, Small town doesn't mean safer town , just my .02

| I used to take Peanut with me anywhere that I could and if I was going to run into a store for only a few minutes, I would take him then too. BUT, only if it wasn't too hot or too cold. He LOVED going bye bye. Sometimes we would just take him for rides. I believe the JOY he got out of going bye bye with Mama and or Daddy, far outweighed the risk we took. I've never heard of any dogs being stolen from cars here and my car is almost impossible to break into. The car alarm would have went off and hopefully scared them away. That's not to say that something bad couldn't have happened. The clerks at my grocery, Dollar General and Walgreens all knew Peanut and would go outside to say "hi" to him. Now that Peanut is gone, I'm glad that he got to go with me so much. I know he loved it. If anyone would have told me I didn't deserve him back if he were stolen...

| sometimes i leave sophie in the car. the weather here i perfect (not too hot, not too cold) i keep her in her carrier with cracks in my windows. i don't even worry about people dognapping her because most don't know she's in there, and i think it would be very hard to steal a dog out of a locked car with one inch cracks in my woindows. however i don't leave her in hre long, its usually just stops alongthe way that don't allow her in -- so 5 minute stops at the most |

I hear you. If your baby is sick and you have to take her ,then thats what you have to do. People don't understand unless the are in the same situation. While I don't have sick babies I can totally relate to not being able to do anything because me and my husband haven't gone on vacation or our honeymoon after 4 years married because I don't trust anyone to take care of our furbutts. The best everyone can do is not let someones opinion make us feel bad b/c its just that an opinion. Being here for some time I've had to learn this because if not I'd feel like the worse pet parent in the world. I used to feel bad when I would read on here about people becoming upset that someone would leave their dog at home for over 8 hours or longer because its cruel or the dog is ready to slit its paws of loneliness . But again everyone has their own thing that works for them, whatever makes life easier. People should also check what they write and reread it several times b4 posting because you also should think about the unnecessary drama it may cause. OP, don't take this as a thing directly at you because( thats including me ) we could all practice this. And again this is just my opinion and an opinion is like a Butt, big or small, everyone has one .

| I've read of people leaving Yorkies in the car and they have gotten stolen, I'm not taking that chance with my 2, NOT even for a nano second. I was at Petsmart, when walking to my car, I notice in the car next to me a cute shcnauzer anxiously waiting in the car, now that I didn't get at all, petsmart is pet friendly
