| Tough subject, I half agree with you and half dont ya know kinda torn. I would never leave Callie by herself in the car but I would never leave her by herself anywhere because she dosent do well at all being left alone. But I was watching TV and they had a story on where this women left her yorkies in the car for over an hour to go shopping in the mall and her dogs were taken and eventualy she got them back but in that case sadly I almost believe she shouldnt have gotten them back because no matter the temp leaving them in the car for over an hour while you go on a shopping spree is uncalled for and a little selfish leave them at home or at a doggy daycare when its gonna be a long trip so they can go potty, eat, run around, ect. But its so sad the the world has come to taking dogs its just horrible.

| I NEVER take mine if they are left in the car unattended.....If moma can't see them at ALL times then it's a no go...... Over the years I've had my cars broken into many times and all they wanted was radar detectors, cd players and the such.....one time I was parked in a busy shopping center in the middle of the afternoon in front of glass windows and it happened, and no one saw a thing!!..... It only required them to break my window, it probably took one to two minutes to do this....there is a small device that's not much bigger than a marker that is placed on the glass and it shatters the window in a split second, it's much quieter than you'd think to do this......after I experienced this first hand on just how bold some people are I'll never risk losing my babies......

| We've had our home broken into and I was only gone for about 20 mins. when it happened. It was a neighbor boy and some of his friends. They took a hand gun and a tv remote So it can happen anywhere at anytime. On the other hand, I've never had my car broken into.

| I know you're not supposed to, but if Baby is with me and I'm picking up food she stays in the car for 2 minutes tops. I always look too while I'm inside the place.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I'm in shock that you said they don't deserve to get their dogs back. Especially when we have someone on this board going through a similar situation. That was rude and uncalled for. On that note, no, we don't leave them in the car alone. My mom had to come get me early from school today, and she hadn't thought about the fact that she'd have to come inside...so Tucker stayed in the car for about 50 seconds. That's it. PS - I don't like it when people leave their dogs in their cars for long periods of time. No matter how big or small they are. But once in a while for a few minutes...if the weather's OK....then its fine, IMO.

| There's no way I'd leave Bella, I'd be scared to death someone would take her! It would be like leaving one of my kids in the car when they were little I could see why someone with a large breed dog like a german shepard or pit bull wouldn't worry (only a fool would try to steal one of them), LOL! I'd have to really think twice about leaving our 80 lb. black Lab (Lucee) if I had to run into a store. On one hand she's really friendly so possibly someone could walk away with her but on the other hand as she gotten older she's gotten more protective so I'm not so sure she'd allow it. I just don't think I'd take the chance.

| Just on a cautionary note for those who leave their furbabies in a car with the AC running. I personally know of someone who did that and the AC froze up. Her little Yorkie died. It doesn't take very long on a hot summer day for the car to heat up to a deadly temp. I don't take my furbabies with me because I do not yet have a safety seat. The fear was put in me when I had a car accident that did $10,000 damage. (The repair shop was into fixing the car before they realized the extent of the damage.) I had thought about taking my 3 lb. Cocoa with me but changed my mind. If she had been with me she would have been killed.

| I very seldome take my babies anywhere, I do take them to family members once in a while, One at a time, I stopped to buy a pop and took molly in with me in my coat, And the cashier was mad, She made a point to tell me that pets were not allowed, I said i was sorry and told her i was affraid to leave her in my van, after talking for a few mints with her, she said, You are right, I guess its ok as long as you dont put her down, Witch i would never do!! From now on i will not make any stops where my dogs cant go..I will not leave them in my van..no way, Iam way to paranoid.
