Good Lord! I just saw this posting... After being on here for the past few months I have realized what crazy and scary things can happen. I have been hounding my husband about keeping the doors to the house locked. I told him about all the Yorkie thefts I have read about. He has been good about locking the doors, but likes to tease me about my paranoia. I am going to show him this thread and prove that I am not crazy.

I am glad that the OP and her pup are okay.

You live in Cal. and don't lock your doors.
I know that I am paranoid. Have seen to much news about people breaking into pet stores steeling Yorkies, breaking windows out of cars and attacking women in the parking lot to take their Yorkie.

oh yah! you have seen/heard right! even in EXCELLENT neighborhoods!! it doesn't matter.. so sad! its scary!! i have heard it so much lately..and acutally knew someone who had her yorkie stolen out of her car! i always keep the doors locked.. why risk it? im VERY glad, TIM(my bf) is the SAME way-actually he is probably WORSE than me no joke.. he is SO protective of Avie!! hehe.

its soooo scary!! tell him its no joke.. yorkies are being stolen left and right! i have family up north(more san jose area though..) and my uncle is a cop.. he was telling us about all the reports, etc. its crazy! Lowlife, selfish people.. see $$ when they see a small dog/Yorkie!

OMGosh, Kim...I just saw this thread! I am so glad you are alright and saved your little Lexie! This is so sad that now you won't dare take Lexie places with you. This ole world is a scary place. So glad you and Lexie survived that ordeal. I hope they catch the creep!

Remember last year when this happened to me with Annie? People are crazy. I know how off guard I was. You are sort of dumb founded when it happens. To this day I do not let anyone hold her, nor do I take her to a groomer. To some that may sound extreme, but go through something like that and it will have a changing effect on you.
