| ![]() First of all, she uses the term teacup yorkies 1) I would never buy from anyone that uses that term.. 2) I would never buy from a breeder that has more than just yorkies..remember I got screwed by a woman who sold me a supposed pomeranian years ago..They can get pg by more than one dog. 3) I would never buy from anyone that breeds a bitch under 4 1/2 - 5 lbs. as to me, I think they're after one thing, and that's the big bucks. 4)one thing to remember for anyone who loves dogs, all puppies are cute! Some of them to me, also didn't look full blooded, but, that's jmo.. |

Barney is 5.5 lbs...He is perfect in size...IMO....Bennie is 4 lbs...I would give anything if he were at least 5 lbs....And 4 lbs is not tiny but when you are holding 4 lbs....Sheesh....I worry about him all the time....Making sure he eats....lol...I panic when I can not get him to eat.... But I am very fortunate...My boys were raised in a home enviroment and I truly believe that is one of the biggest plusses to their personalities..They were/are soooo socialized... IMO....A home breeder is the way to go...Some may prefer a kennel pup...That is their choice.... Joyce

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | ![]() Her pups are NO DOUBT very, very cute indeed, but breeding 2 and 1/2 lb mommies? That says enough to me. I would not buy from this person. I also forgot to add, she sure is breeding ALOT of dogs..

| ![]() Although I think that purposely breeding tiny, tiny Yorkies is not a great idea nor should it be done, I do commend them on such a clean kennel which looks to be very professionally run. Its definately a business and doesnt look like the dogs have alot of people/socialization time which is sad for a Yorkie or any breed. Hopefully this is how clean her kennel looks 100% of the time. But these are only pictures on a web-site. As to being show quality(from a previous post): NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! |

| ![]() And don't forget folks, anyone can clean up a dog and take a pretty picture with a basket and some flowers. That doesn't guarantee what they look like on a daily basis. And you can not tell the health of a dog by it's picture alone. |

| ![]() There is no way I would consider buying from that breeder and can't believe anyone (especially a YT member) would. There is no such thing as a "teacup" or "tiny toy" yorkie OR poodle ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() for me....... the issue here is kennel verses home raised puppies. To me... the pictures of the kennel remind me of the puppies at the petstore at the mall... so many dogs, not enough attention. Now obviously these kennels are much larger than those in a petstore, but seeing the number of puppies, I'm still weary that they would get enough attention. To tell you the truth, before getting my yorkies I would have been very tempted to get my puppies from her. HOWEVER, since getting my puppies and seeing how important puppy development and socialization is, there is no way I could get a puppy from a kennel. I have firsthand experience on the impact it has on the dogs - Jaya, my first yorkie who's 6 months, is the most perfect dog ever -- behaviorwise. She was raised in home with her parents and other dogs with people doting on her. When i brought her home at 10-11 weeks, on the advise of the breeder, i set up my home similarly to hers for the pup, and jaya never cried or was upset or anything! She was pad-trained, never chewed on anything but her toys, i could go on and on, and for a firsttime pet owner at the time, she was SO easy to bring into my home. And even now she is so well behaved... honestly, the most perfect dog. In contrast, Jenna, who i got from the same breeder ---but wasnt raised with her (its complicated, but the breeder got jenna from one of her friends at a price I could afford since hers were showquality and way too expensive for me, and since there was a level of trust between us, i trusted her and still do trust her opinion). Anyways! I believe Jenna was taken too early from her mother, and before the breeder brought her home, i think she lived in a kennel-like environment. The differences between Jenna and Jaya are huge! Jenna (now 12 weeks, and i've had her for about two and half weeks) is so demanding and constantly crying and whining, and though she is much more affectionate, I know I am going to have issues with her behavior. I can't express to you how different the experiences with each dog was... the transition with Jaya was SO easy! and with Jenna... its been.. much more difficult. The development of a puppy is very important. And since I have not spoken to anyone who has purchased a puppy from this kennel, I can't say anything. In addition, I have no knowledge of how the puppies are raised there, and for all I know, these pups could be getting all the attention in the world. I need to speak to the kennel-owner and ppl who have purchased their pups from her, to be able to say anything in regards to her pups and her business. In regards to the sizes of the dams..... the pups must be extremely tiny, and the litter size can't be very big... i'd estimate the litter size to be one or two max, and the survival rate of the entire litter to be slim. I am not a breeder, and don't have enough knowledge about this to even be able to comment on the impact it would have on such a tiny dam. Let's just say, I've had ignorant ppl come up to me after looking at my pups and say "omg you should totally breed them they're gorgeous and you'd make so much money" ---- I have had to make a rude comment in response! I love my dogs too much! My heart breaks at the pain they will have to endure in getting spayed, but I must to avoid them getting pregnant or getting cancer. I love them too much to make them go through pregnancy and potential c-section. It is so hard on a dog, much less such a small dog. The breeder I got my pups from, as I've stated earlier had a litter from one of her smaller yorkies (4-5) and she yielded all "teacups" --but through her pregnancy, the breeder was basically house-trapped because she refused to let the dam be alone, especially during the last few weeks of the pregnancy. The breeder said she will not go through that again and that the dam won't be getting pregnant again even if her litter was healthy. It was just too hard on her, and the constant supervision and constant care for the dam's wellbeing due to her size was extreme. I wonder how much attention this kennel's dams get during their pregnancy, since it took such a toll on a home breeder with only one dam. |

| ![]() Over and over again, I see responses from people that either didn't fully read the previous posts or, as in this case, they take what is written out of context. This is why I usually don't respond to responses. However, to clarify my position ... Quote:
I KNOW they are NOT of show quality. My point was that facially, they LOOK very much like the standard - like AKC Yorkshire Terriers. It appears to me like you girls are giving the impression that small dogs will have health problems and that non-small and AKC registered dogs do not. To be fair, generally this may be true, but is NOT ABSOLUTE. To the OP and others who may be concerned with this issue... Point of fact - Our 'teapot' yorkie we got from a small kennel, who, at that time, bred exclusively Yorkies, is AKC registered and weighs 14 lbs. She looks less like a Yorkie than these Velvet Touch Yorkies, she's had both knees operated on for LP, she's got allergies and other health issues. In addition, frankly, she's a little neurotic. I've read many posts from YTers who have NOT had health issues with their small Yorkies. In closing, all I ask is for us to use a little more discretion, restraint, and understanding when discussing other kennels, their breeding practices, dog sizes, appearances, etc. | |

| ![]() Which proves my point, thank you. Expressing such strong cutting opinions based on a web site is simply ill conceived. |
