Look at this website. Just google Velvet Touch Yorkies. Have any of you had any experience with her look at her dams, they are very small. Im not interested in her yorkies they are way to small for me. Im just wondering what the rest of you guys think. If Im not wrong I counted over 50 yorkie breeders male and female together. Am I looking at that wrong? |
I have been going to her web site for 6 yrs now. Never heard anything bad about her. I know her pups are very cute. We were going to check her out the next time we're looking into adding to the family. :) |
No! No! I don't know anything about them but those dams look way too small to be breeding. |
she has to be SICK IN THE HEAD for breeding those tiny mommies. wholly crap, that is by far one of the worst breeders i have ever seen. breeding 2 1/2 lb mommies, which most of them were. also, no mention (i didn't see) them being registered. Many of the sire's and dam's do not look full bred Yorkshire Terriers to me. Very very sad :( |
I think her puppies are very cute, but after looking at pictures of her kennel, I would not feel comfortable buying any puppy from her. If you notice her sign, she used to breed 5 different breeds. That's a big warning flag when looking for a breeder. Plus, she seems to have a lot of dogs and they are living in a kennel environment, not raised in a home. I would worry about socialization and how that many could be properly cared for. I also think that the females are much too small to be breeding. This is JMO, but it just looks like too much of a "mass breeding operation" for me to want to purchase from there. |

First - Her front page states AKC registration. http://teacuppoodles.com/ Second - Your opinion that they do not look to be full bred Yorkshire Terrier runs counter to our opinion, and, in fact, except for their size, they appear to look very much like the Yorkies we see winning at AKC dog shows. I think some of you MAY be jumping to conclusions. As yorkiecrazy has stated, she's been watching that kennel for the past 6 years. She's also kept her ear to the ground listening for anything derogatory about them and, so far, has heard nothing. In addition, we've noticed the kennel is more often without puppies then with. I KNOW I'll get attacked with this next statement, but, I'm pretty sure I can handle it.:D I think some of you may be a little quick on the attack without having enough facts. Sure, be cautious! But, I think we need to be more careful of making misleading and unsubstantiated statements. This is how rumors get started and you know how rumors can hurt the innocent. Ladies.... please be careful. :2popkorn: |

I've been down the road of buying from a kennel and I just would not be comfortable going back to that. |
 I am personally very sad for those poor dogs...I could never personally breed such small dogs...nor keep so many! How would I ever spend enough time loving on each and every one of them...this really breaks my heart!!! |
she breeds 2lb mommies ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!! |
I think she has one Yorkie that's within the weight standard. She breeds "teacups" purposely. I would not use her for this reason...but that's MHO. |

There are no rumors, (A piece of unverified information of uncertain origin usually spread by word of mouth. Unverified information received from another; hearsay. ) being stated, just peoples opinions from the facts of her website. You are correct, I missed the akc reg Now, I don't know what kind of dog shows you go to but at all the akc sponsered events I attend, these dogs wouldn't even make it into the ring. first due to size and 2nd, they do not measure up to the standard. I went back to take a 2nd look......nope, can't see them being in the ring. No Yorkshire Terrier should ever be bred less than 5lbs....maybe 4lbs if you are very very experienced. Most of her yorkies are at most 3lbs....very few 4lbs. I cannot speak for the poodles which i haven't a clue but I can however speak about the Yorkshire Terriers. Her yorkies are, of course, cute (like all dogs) but as a breeder, no ethical breeder would ever venture into this. |
Really cute dogs. I did a search and it seems a few Yorkie Talkers have purchased from her (some more than once) and it seems they were very happy with her. |
I did not start this thread to cause anyone to be upset. I am just learning.I dont have a yorkie yet but Im trying to do all my research before I do. I want everyones opinion good or bad on anything I post thats how you learn is to listen. :D |
Geez she sure has enough yorkies....thats a little too many IMO...kennel raised puppies dont do a thing for me...nope.. Dawn |
no one is upset, they are just stating their opinions. If you breed tinies purposely, you get many health problems for most of the puppies. I would have to say (jmo) that 95% of these births have to be from c-sections. If you breed toward the standard and have a little tiny puppy out of that litter, the chances of you having in health issues are greatly reduced. This is the difference from being a poor breeder and a wonderful breeder. Caring and making sure the puppies you produce are 1st and foremost, healthy. |
