THANK YOU for words that truly make sense. When Dena first posted about Natalie being ill weeks ago, it was for a respiratory infection, misdiagnosed. Dena had no idea of the underlying health issues. She had no crystal ball she could look into when Natalie seemed fine, days later, no way of knowing that the Vet who told her it was no more than an infection, had made a terrible mistake that would come back to bite HER and POOR NATALIE. She had no way of knowing that the day AFTER Gracie came to her, that Natalie would be at death's door.

Now I am going to finish catching up. This just makes me so sad.

I agree that my dogs are my "children", but it isn't like Gracie came from a pet store or somewhere that would be terrible for her to go back to. She came from a loving family who had to rehome her, so she would be going back there -- not somewhere that would harm her.

I understand you have most likely bonded with her and that I can understand as I bond instantly also.

I'm just genuinely wondering if it really came down to saving Natalie and having Gracie go back to her previous home what you would do? I guess I am trying to put myself in your shoes, which is difficult since I have not been through this and pray that I don't have to.

I 100% don't mean this as an attack, I'm just really curious.

Nat has been sick ever since you bought her hasnt she? How did you get the money for gracie? With all the donated cloths for Nats medical bills? After all the dogs you all ready have and no one working what made you decide to get nat ?

That little girls heart is....well, it's got to be working way to hard. So, they have no idea why the enlargement? You're right, it's unilateral. Round. It's no wonder her little body is having a tough time getting oxygen. And if this looks better than it was?

She's a fighter, for sure

Any heart meds yet? Cardizem? She's not on Pred is she?

This is why I'm so anxious to get her into a specialist.... I just don't think she's strong enough to go through a bunch of "trials" to see what is what... we need a difinative diagnoses and agressive treatment.

The only thing she's on is the Lasix and 3 antibiotics.... the waiting is horrible... but they said if she worsens over the weekend or anytime before her appointment, we can make the 3 hour or whatever it is, drive to their emergency facility.....

They said that x-rays don't offer much as to why..... they talked about doing a needle aspiration and taking fluid off her lungs and from around her heart... and testing it to "see if anything grows" so they'll know if it's a bacterial issue that brought on the enlargement.

I want to say first that I do not care if you beg borrow or steal the money to get this dog the proper medical care.

Although I appreciate that you love Gracie already your "poor financial planning" should have no bearing on the kind of treatment that your Natalie gets. She NEEDS to see a Specialist for her heart, there is only so much a local vet can do. Sometimes when we love something we have to make sacrifices, no matter how hard it is.
Your logic that Natalie needed Gracie for some type of companion? You have plenty of dogs if she needed canine companionship, YOU wanted the dog, not Natalie. Now Natalie NEEDS a cardiac specialist and it is your responsibility to make whatever sacrifice you need to in order to get her the treatment she deserves.

I swear I am not trying to be mean but love is not selfish. You have stated the breeder said she would give you your money back for Gracie, do the right thing for your first responsibility, Natalie. She did not ask for this and it breaks my heart that she may not get the proper care.
