| Thanks Pooch! She just played outside with the kids for an hour or so and didn't want to come back in. Maybe this outside thing will do the trick. I think I am just going to consider this starting over at the beginning. I appreciate the support!

| Mine absolutely loves to be outside - no matter the weather. I did dual train her for when we absolutely cannot go out due to thunderstorms or blizzards. I have pads in the garage and when she absolutely cannot go outside she will go on the pads. I use doorbells so she always lets me know when she needs to go potty. I hope everything works out for you.

| And maybe that hour outside did nothing. The kids came in to get some lunch, she was asleep on the couch next to me. She ran up to them then ran back to the couch and peed. Really? THIS is what makes me so angry. She was in for maybe 15 min when she did this. Now she is in her crate and my cushion is drying from my soaking in enzyme cleaner. It's enough to make me cry.

| Yea, I got that. I can't force the dog to pee. All I can do is take her out or put her in the pen with the pad. If she doesn't pee she goes back in the crate. Looks like she better get used to liking the crate. She won't be out of it for a long time.

| Does it remind you of potty training your children?

| Actually....they were very easy! LOL! My daughter learned in three days and my son took less than a week. It is so maddening!! These dogs are so cute and loving but will drive you crazy.

| I hear ya! What does she do if you put a leash on her and take her out there and tell her to potty? Nothing?

| Absolutely nothing. She runs around and plays and smells and never squats. She looks like she is going to, but it must be the terrier in her because she just smells everything.

| I have found with mine that if I'm out somewhere else that if I hold the leash steady and don't let her walk, walk, walk, that she'll go potty. I just say go potty over and over again and she will eventually. 'Course, she's not a puppy now, but that is how I taught her when we're traveling or whatever. That is how I got my last yorkie to go whenever we were out and about, too.

| Okay, good news finally! I put her in her crate after the couch pee. I waited about 30 min then took her outside where I had set up an ex pen in a small little square so she had no room to play, just smell and eliminate. She didn't do anything. I put her back in the crate and waited until we were headed out to the store. I took her out to the pen. Nothing. I put her back in the crate and we left. We were gone about 2 hours. Came home and put her in the pen within a min or so she peed! Now....where to go from here? She can't just live in her crate (obviously), she needs some family time. I only have a retractable leash at the moment. I could go get a standard leash this weekend and tie her to me, but for now I need another idea. Thanks!

Later, when you have time to watch her, play with her on the leash so that if she does pee you can correct her right away. Keep doing the crate. Have you taken her to the vet to make sure it isn't a UTI or something else medical? | |

| Ugh, my work schedule has me on and off every other day until next week so I haven't scheduled her yet (I work night shift). I am going to keep at this and try to get her in this Saturday.

| HA! Found one of my old ferret leashes! She is now looped through my belt. LOL!! She is not liking it, but oh well, she will adjust. Okay, so if I am....say......eating and not paying close attention to her should I put her back in her crate? She got this so easy the first time around that this is all new to me!
