Now....where to go from here? She can't just live in her crate (obviously), she needs some family time. I only have a retractable leash at the moment. I could go get a standard leash this weekend and tie her to me, but for now I need another idea.

Good news. Take a walk, let her pee, put her back in.
Later, when you have time to watch her, play with her on the leash so that if she does pee you can correct her right away.
Keep doing the crate.
Have you taken her to the vet to make sure it isn't a UTI or something else medical?
