| Look of you can not manage your dog get him into a rescue. As for those that say it is your fault well it maybe in part but there are those dogs that have a fear gene running through lines and it leads to aggression. Nothing you can do about gene pool. So do what is best for you family and rocky and do not let what some post here bother you. unless they live with a truly aggressive dog they do not get it and will not get what it takes out of you. As for the angry I get it totally the why the heck an I getting hit up side the head and I am a good person...not fair it is not fair at all. It be better to go find a good K9 aggression board that understands the true nature of aggression. That will not happen here. JL

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Rockybaby, I'm glad to see you back and hope you find some of the experienced trainers on here helpful - I know I have!! Dog training is *not* easy, and I know that it can be very frustrating. But what I also want to say is that we make great efforts to treat *all* members fairly here - there is no "elite crowd" that gets treated differently. I appreciate you being here just as I do every member . If you ever feel you're being treated unfairly, please PM me - I'm always here for you if you need to discuss/vent.

| I think getting him neutered is an excellent Idea. I have not read this entire thread so this may have been mentioned before, Trying catching a few episodes of The Dog Whisperer. He is a dog psycologist and can help you to figure out why he is aggressive and show you how to work on those issues and to develop trust in you, even if he has fear aggression. If you do not get the National Geographic Channel, you can go to his website, Welcome to Cesar Millan's Official Web Site. Good luck, I think with some love and understanding and patience he will come around. Last edited by admin; 09-20-2009 at 11:56 AM. Reason: removed quote of deleted post |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Speaking of books, I HIGHLY recommend The Loved Dog by trainer Tamar Geller.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | well you are new so I won't touch the 'theory's' people suggested - but I will say this - that really DOES happen like WileysMom just said - there's no elite crowd here - we're here because we love our dogs. The issue you may have had was cussing out someone maybe ? Since kids read this site to - it's pretty much not allowed though I know many times I've wanted to post words my mind was REALLY thinking and had to substitute. You just can't cuss anyone out. Since your yorkie is from a mill then he really doesn't know bad behavior vs good behavior - and really doesn't know about bathroom issues because he probably spent his short life caged 24/7....poor guy..... You need to teach him. You got good advise here - all the best to you.

He's going to associate that playpen with living in a tiny cage. Maybe try an ex-pen where he is still with you yet not enclosed like a mill cage. Not to sound awful - but you seem REALLY stressed out. I'm sorry for your illness but dogs do sense stress and flipping out over his behavior will never help him - it may just make him worse. He needs patience and consistency....if that doesn't work for you - then maybe you should think of re-homing him so someone can work with him - your plate just may be too full to handle a puppy,

But seeing as he was never in a stable pack of dogs, he does not know how to be a good pack leader. So now what you have is instasbility trying to control instability. Not good. I think even Cesar would agree, that in your circumstances, it might be better to get a more stable dog. You already have more stress than someone your age should have to deal with, the added stress of an unstable dog is probably not what is best for you at this time. May the Lord make you strong enough to make the right decision.
