| ![]() I take my pup outside to pee a lot - and this works very well. But, if he's going to be in the house running free for any period of time (or at anyone else's house) I wrap a washcloth around him and pin it..... This does nothing to help train him................but, it certainly keeps his pee off the carpet and other things. Whenever, he is the slightest bit damp, I put a new cloth on him. He wears these only for "my convenience" --- and I think they're worth a million dollars. You can continue with your training - and protect your carpet at the same time. There's no rule against doing this. Good luck! Carol Jean |

| ![]() As far as I've read and heard the belly bands are for the boys and the diaper style are for girls. I'm not sure if they are good for training a puppy but My little Tink has to wear a diaper to bed because she cannot hold her pee in for more than an hour or two at the very most and I started getting really exausted after months and months of waking up to let her out only to find that she had already wet about 80% of the time ![]() ![]() Rita and Tink ![]() |

| ![]() I'm so glad (again!) to know I'm not the only one who had to get up in the middle of the night with the puppy! I think I nearly went insane from not sleeping through the night. I bought Buddy a belly band on E-bay which is REALLY nice, but it doesn't fit him very well - it sort of skootches up towards the middle of his body where it doesn't cover....uh....his Business ;-) - do most of you use ones that are very narrow? This one is about 2 or 3 inches wide... |

| ![]() I was just at a log cabin last week staying with some friends, and Wosie almost immediately peed on the carpet. I ran and got her some "newborn" people diapers, and cut a hole for the tail. That way I did not have to worry. One thing you need to be careful of is that the tiny grains that fall from the hole are actually meant to hold the urine from leaking out of the diaper. If you get them in the sink, they are nearly impossible to get out! (right, Deb? ![]()

| ![]() I have just started using them because even though Kiki is neutered he seems to still do some marking. So far, it has helped tremendously. I am hoping that he grows out of the marking thing. The diaper stays dry all the time and he holds it until we go out to potty. I also let him sleep with me with it on. I am hoping to eventually he will have to wear it less.

| ![]() Diapers are for incontinence and girls in heat. Loki has nighttime incontinence (now he's on medication for it) but when we were still figuring things out my vet told me not to use belly bands. Urine can scald the skin. As someone who has had to give many baths to a wet dog, I would not choose a diaper. (The fur soaks it all up!! Even if they are trimmed short!) I'd rather he pee on my nice white carpet than on himself. Easier to whip out the Bissell than give the dog a bath..... Some people use them at other people's houses. I found that Loki had less accidents elsewhere when he was a puppy, because we watched him more and took him out more. As far as letting the puppy out - just do it! If she pees on the floor she pees on the floor. Just supervise her and keep the trips short. Just try to make sure she's empty first ![]()

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | ![]() I made Des start a diaper line so Morgan could get a specially made diaper from her. She wore it alot the first couple weeks i had her because she would just squat wherever she wanted to pee and i was tired of yelling no and having her look at me like "what i'd do". now that she doesn't pee on the carpet anymore i don't put it on her unless i feel like making her look even cuter then she already is. i love her diaper and so does she, especially since auntie Des made it for her

| ![]() I don't use the paper diapers on Kiki. I use the cloth diaper by simple solutions. I am finding that Kiki is staying dry until I take him out. I think eventually he will learn that doing it in the house is a no no. I feel that the diaper has been a help tremendously with potty training. I personally don't have time to steam clean my carpet all day or even every other day. I also have a very sensitive nose. I don't want to smell urine when I walk in my house and I sure don't want company to smell it either. Also after your dog has peeped on your floor or carpet so many times there is nothing you can do but replace it. I don't have that kind of money. My pup is still a puppy with the diaper. It have looks like little cute shorts. We both are happy. This is how I have peace and enjoy my dog.
