As far as I've read and heard the belly bands are for the boys and the diaper style are for girls. I'm not sure if they are good for training a puppy but My little Tink has to wear a diaper to bed because she cannot hold her pee in for more than an hour or two at the very most and I started getting really exausted after months and months of waking up to let her out only to find that she had already wet about 80% of the time
so this solution is working out so much better for the both of us because she doesn't have to get bathed everyday and I get to sleep
