| ![]() Pam, I posted this on another thread but wanted to make sure you saw it. Please don't blame Rose for the late notice that I would be taking Dixie, it was my fault. I knew about the open fontanel and had some reservations until I could talk to my vet and show him the letter from Dixie's vet and I wanted to speak with Dixie's vet as well. Then I had to spend all night with Lily at the ER vet because she had convulsions so I wasn't able to contact Rose until I got back today. Then when I tried to call her she had just left to meet you so I contacted the vet's office where you were to meet and left my name and number and told them to tell Rose that I would take Dixie since I couldn't contact her. I'm very sorry for the late notice but it was a big decision and I know I made the right one. I promise that Dixie will be getting a great home and will get the best care possible. And can I just say again, WOOHOO I'M GETTING DIXIE !!!!!!!!!!

| ![]() all i will say woo hoo too dana as for my contract if i sell a pup on friday night i give them 72 hours i feel the weekend does not count as a business day since most close at noon on sat and not open at all on sunday i am very fair to my buyers so if they bought on saturday they have untill tuesday at 5pm you have to be understanding and fair i do not expect anyone to do an emergency call to abide by my contract and thats what it would have to be on most weekends not for just a well puppy check Last edited by cutiepieyorkies; 06-02-2007 at 02:37 PM. |

No Longer a Member | ![]() Actually, from what I have been reading and learning from some of the show breeders that post here and ones I have spoken to on the phone, you don't even consider that money you've gotten for the pup yours until that puppy is a year old... |

| ![]() This is not my business or concern, but as a Yorkie Lover I have to pipe in and say that I think it's terrible that anyone would ship a Yorkie at such a young age. Whether it be seven weeks or eight weeks both ages are way too young to ship. Most reputable breeders would not allow their Yorkies to leave the mother at eight weeks, especially the small ones. I'm glad Dixie has found a forever home. I fell in love with her the day Rose posted her but had already gotten my Jersey. Best of luck to Dixie and her new mom ![]() |

| ![]() to clarify thing one more time i did take dixie to my vet on the 31st of march within the 48 hour period at that time it was a busy sat morn for my vet so he just did a simple well puppy check since i trusted pam and she told me she had dixie at her vet just two weeks before hand and at that time i had no reason to doubt her i found the font while i was brushing dixie and took her the very next day to my vet which confirmed the findings her font is more towards the back of her head it is small but it is there i am really tired of being the bad guy i am sorry pam but right is right no punt intended but i feel as though this is proubly not the first font for one of your puppies the parents should not be bred again and as far as dixie she is going to the very best home for her including myself i know she will be safe and loved and that is all that matters to me again i have bigger girl 5 to 6 pound range and i would never forgive myself if one of these girls hurt dixie and even though you say you love her she would not get the one on one she deservers with all your dogs and my question is just how many do you have ![]() ![]() ![]() and feel the ones that got good ones were blessed please think about your breeding program and let you dogs be dogs i could not imagine my dog never being able to lay in the sunshine and enjoy the fresh air and as another thing i do believe in god but i dont use him to get pity my bad is my bad and i take my licks and as asking for forgiviness that should be done in private between you and him and yes i will forgive because it is the right thing to do but i dont have to forget Last edited by cutiepieyorkies; 06-03-2007 at 05:22 AM. |

| ![]() I tired to stay out of this but I wanted to make mention of one thing that continues to get bantered about.... the 24 hours manditory vet visit!!!!! A persons life is crazy...although I have 72 hours in my contract if a person cant arrange a timely visit, I would still honor my contract....It is my responsiblilty for this puppy and a "pissy contest" over 24 hours is just plain silly! whether the vet visit was 48 hours or 72 hours or 144 hours the results would have been the same "an open font". It is the breeders responsiblity to inform and educate the perspective buyer about what it may or not be as the puppy matures, to send out a puppy with this condition without telling the buyer is irresponsible IMHO. BTW I have never heard that open font is it part of dwarfism and not sure if I believe that. Zoom Zoom fondly known as Baby, was born with an open font, closed completely by 6 months and grew to be a 4 lbs healthy, happy boy...I have a little tiny gal in Annies litter with an open font, she has never had an unhappy day nor one day of weight loss, born at 1.7oz she continues to thrive, it is closing and of minor size at 9 weeks old tomorrow weighing in at 1lb 6 oz.. On the down side open font can be related to a hydro puppy, being wall eye and water on the brain, these kids will not surive in most cases, passing on at a very early age...although you can put a shunt in the head to ease the water, some survive and will live on a normal happy life. As THE breeder YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for this puppy no matter what the time limit may state in the contract, as A REPUTABLE BREEDER you are RESPONSIBLE for his/her life for life!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() When it comes to Sales I really get uncomfortable when someone relies so heavily on religion...while it has it's place.... I have to wonder why someone would do that - and no offense to pamspups.... but dealing with illness or personal problems should be a seperate thing and have nothing to do with selling Puppies. If your problems are overwhelming you... maybe it's time to back away till you get more focused ?? It's a big deal to purchase a yorkie these days with the prices and all... and I would think each customer should have the full benefit of a breeder who's in it 100% and not someone who's consumed with other problems. I wish both parties the best but hope for the dogs sake that things look better for you Pam. |

| ![]() WOW I just read this thread, and I am in S H O C K! I have bought 2 pups whom I intended on breeding...From Pam I was in a frenzy when she stated that I voided my contract because my pups were outside. MY Contract doesn't state that and if it did I would not of purchased my pups from her. And now dwarfism and open fontanls????????? I do not want to breed faults and I asked for breeding bitches, I brought mine to the vet and they checked out fine....Healthy!!!!and No worms, No Open font's here and they are going to make the weight one is 4 lbs and the other is 5 lbs. Mine don't have good hair and one's ears never came up. And now this......I can't sell these pups for what I paid NO one in MINNESOTA would pay what I paid I have 800.00 females. Thats what a "good" "Quality" breeder goes for. I did my homework and research as well as Rose but evidentlly we missed something HUGE in doing it. So as for my girls I am not sure what to do Pam tells me give it time they will be beautiful give them time. They don't look like either parent or Dixie. And to hang on to them so I get even more attached and won't want to get rid of them. Sorry I am posting this right now but I angry.

| ![]() Up front let me say this is not an endorsement of anyone. I am concerned about some info here, and my opinion on some stuff in general. The pup doesn't look like a dwarf to me at all. A small open font at 5 months is not that uncommon and may close when the rest of the bone growth slows down some (6-12 months). Unless there are wide set bulging eyes or a bulge to the font (signs of hydro) it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the pup. Certainly just because a pup has an open font doesn't mean the pup is a dwarf. Dwarfs have deformed (enlarged) joints, especially the front legs. They also usually turn in at the knees, very noticeably. They are long bodied to their height, like a basset hound. Unless genetic testing is done and proved her to have it there is no way to tell by looking at her as she doesn't show any signs by looking at her pictures. I have always thought the 2-3 day vet visit unreasonable. I give 5 days to see a vet. Most things take 5-7 days to incubate and I instruct my buyers not to take the pup anywhere until its done with all shots. I warn them they aren't fully protected until then. Not even to potty in the grass. However, a vet that missed an open font would not get a repeat visit from me. Anyone buying a pup (especially a breeder/show potential) needs to check for things like top line, bite (jaw structure not teeth), leg shape and tightness, open font, and hernia along with other things. These problems are easily seen in a couple minutes. A breeder should disclose anything they know but the buyer should always check things for themselves as well. |

| ![]() I have never heard of a "quality" full registration bitch going for $800.00. Maybe $1500 to $2000.00 and that's just with champions somewhere back in the pedigree. It's rare for even pet quality, limited registration puppies to go for that. Please understand, I am not trying to be rude or anything, I am just surprised.
