![]() ok again my bad for buying this pup to soon but sometimes when you talk to someone over a year you learn to trust ( i had a super brain fart )As for my vet he has saved a many of abused dogs and is really very good As i said it was a busy sat morn and it just got missed the first time could have happened to anyone as far as trust my vet i would trust with any one of my dogs this has never happened before i bought a pup a few years ago and the font was found right away this one is 0.5cm by 0.2 cm the problem is dixie is 2.10 at five months and even if she got to 4 she would still be to small to show and i would never breed her font or not she is very fine boned each yorkie grows at there own rate her sister are over 4 and 5 pounds and they are full sisters and same age all i know this was how dr grimes explained dixie to me and he is pams vet again he said when a dog has a certain dwarfism the do not grow and usually they have an open font and the dwarfism causes the font not to close because of the retardation of growth i dont understand it all just going by what i was told i really do not see her getting much bigger i have 10 week old pups as big as her as far as body you just cant know unless you actually put you hands on and see for your self i can post all the pictures i need to but hands on tells the story my major concern is if pam is breeding dogs with open fonts please stop for the sake of the dogs and there offspring i know dixie will be fine she could not ask for a better forever home as far as i am concerned and yes it could close but very unlikely it has not changed in size at all i know all do not understand but there is alot more to this story and it could go on forever and my main thing is for dixie to be happy and loved Last edited by cutiepieyorkies; 06-03-2007 at 11:48 AM.

| ![]() I have never heard of a "quality" full registration bitch going for $800.00. Maybe $1500 to $2000.00 and that's just with champions somewhere back in the pedigree. It's rare for even pet quality, limited registration puppies to go for that. Please understand, I am not trying to be rude or anything, I am just surprised. __________________ Mary Ann Fancy & C.J. Mary Ann, your surprised, That is what I am saying I paid 3200.00 for "PETS" Come on they are 800.00 dogs. Pam should refund me $1600.00.

![]() I am not saying anything bad about you buying the pup or reselling her. I understand she will be to small and you don't want an open font in your program. I am happy she is going to a good home. ![]() I posted because I didn't want anyone to think an open font meant you had a dwarf. Dwarfs are definitely physically different looking. Have you ever seen a "munchkin" cat? The body is regular size and the long bones of the legs are almost not there. Its very obvious. Its not something you have to feel for. I will agree that the "miniaturization" of the yorkies maybe why some have open fonts. The tinies have them mostly. But that's a completely different thing. The advise on checking for obvious stuff before buying was just a heads up for anyone looking. It can be done at 8 weeks old. That's when the first evaluation of a pup is done by many breeders. Teeth may change but jaw bones rarely repair or get straighter, an inquial hernia can be found by standing the pup up on hind feet and looking for any bulges, (sometimes you can't see them otherwise). Top lines can go off but don't usually get much better if already roached at 8 weeks. Cow hocked legs or popping knees at 8 weeks is not a good thing either. Open fonts found just by rubbing the head. Any of these things at 8 weeks would rule out a breeding/showing pup. This can be done quickly and save someone disappointment later. Sorry I guess this is off topic and should have been somewhere else, but I didn't want you to think I was scolding you for buying the pup.

![]() plus i though she showed or its what she lead me to believe my bad for not digging deeper and she was in to much of a hurry to take my money well maybe pams vet is wrong i was told that certain types of dwarfism is what actually causes the fonts it is because of slow maturety and growth retardation and that the font do not cause the slow growth i am just glad for dixie i have been so worried that in play one of my girls teeth would accidently hit this font so i have been watching very carefully and not letting dixie play with the others as much Last edited by cutiepieyorkies; 06-03-2007 at 12:55 PM.

![]() hi like to say yes, you know what your talking about that dixie was not a dwarf and the open font, no maybe, if even she got big enough, dont breed dixie, but the 2 sisters well shes got some nice stock there, only breed to an outside line and youll be fine, the bloodlines you got sister are worth every penny, breed yorself som showdogs from them , use a quality male, as far as ears, ive seen some not come up till theys almost grown, you got a deal with them girl!! jim

![]() also your insulting the prestigious line sayin stuf like that, and also belinas line, you should watch yourself cutting too deep there sayin only 800.00 dogs , your dead wrong girl, you must be new to the show circuit jim, insults go a long way ,youll never get a dog from these people now, bequiet and let them alone youll be happy once you get a good litter, your lucky yours are the breeding size and from the past pics i seen the hair is doing fine, you dont want a bunch of fluffy hair, thin is better cause it will be silk eventually jim
