Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | ![]() yes i agree with everyone else send the money back. But please protect yourself make a copy of what ever they sent you is it cash or check or what? also yes send it by certified mail that requires a signature (make sure you asks the post office for the signature one) if the freak out on you just tell them the puppy became ill and you can't sell her and just never answer their phone calls again. Or simply just tell them you guys aren't even responsible enough to set a date to pick her up let alone be able to care for her. People just make me mad!! ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I would totally refund their deposit and be grateful that they will never have your female. If they don't have money for payment, how will they give her vet care? They LIED to you as well while you waited all day. You know my experience with a lying breeder, works both ways and a lying buyer is just as bad. Females are so desirable and you have cute pups and care where they are placed, don't feel badly for those deadbeats. Jessica |

| ![]() If you have a bad feeling then dont do it. As soon as my deposit was paid for my dog I was so excited and went crazy buying him stuff Im not getting him till the day before Valentines day and he's already got tons of stuff (i started buying stuff the end of December) ![]() I've already researched vets and everything else. Purchased food for him etc..

I had to turn someone down for a puppy several months ago. I almost made myself sick over it. When I finally told her "no" she said "oh that's fine, I didn't want to drive that far anyways". Maybe she needed to start out with a houseplant........

| ![]() Since you changed your mind, just send the deposit back. also for future reference, what my hubby does when someonee makes a deal on his beagles to send a deposit. he tells them when it will be ready. If they don't show up by the end of that day (unless he has made prior agreeement with them) The deposit is forfeited. Of course we understand that people work thru the week and drive long trips to get here so if they want to wait until the weekend, once it has been discussed, that is fine. |

| ![]() You are doing the right thing. If I was a breeder I would never give a puppy to people like that

![]() Certified mail is a good idea. Ill just be honest about it to them. That I have to feel comfortable with where my puppies go, and I dont so I will be sending the deposit back. I would rather call and let them know the deposit is coming instead of a surprize. I think that would upset them more. I guess they could freak out on me but hey I can get a little freaky myself! ![]() ![]() If I was going to get nasty I would have when I waited for hours for them to call or show up and come to find out they were at home, and never let me know. I think someone would flip out on me if they were coming to pick up a puppy and I just didnt bother to show, or I wasnt home for the appt. Its for the best, I think its one of those situations, where somemone likes the thought of a puppy, like a kid, but forgets to feed them or doesnt truly realize the expense, the supplies, the vet bills. They were told all that stuff but after putting a deposit never inquired about her again. I did all the calling, and they still didnt have th supplies the day they were supposed to pick her up so they dont need my puppy. | |

| ![]() You know I dont expect people to go all foo foo over puppies, meaning buying clothes, designer carriers....some people just arent like that. Its cool if they are, but its the other stuff that really counts. Like buying the essentials needed to care for the dog to prepare, at least checking once to see how the pup is. If you dont do that is certainly is a reflection to me of what kind of life a puppy will have. Lucky to eat, lucky to get a pat on the head. |

| ![]() Sionce you were the one that changed your mind, it would not be ethical to keep part of the deposit. To be honest, I believe they would have a case if they refused to accept the returned deposit and insisted on the puppy. So you will be lucky if they take back the deposit and walk away happy. They might be realizing that this was not a good idea but are afraid to tell you they changed their minds for fear you will keep the deposit. |

| ![]() They shouldnt be afraid at all. I tell people your deposit is fully refundable. In rare instances I would keep a portion of the deposit, such as keeping a puppy for an extended period of time because they will not prepare for a pick up date. SO maybe they are afraid I would keep it, since they have put off getting the puppy, avoided phone calls and then failed to show up the day of pick up. Heck if someone came to pick up their puppy and they werent happy I would give their deposit back. But if people start out with a problem to commit, and then come up with excuses not to come the day of pick up, then say Ill call sometime next week, arent prepared for the dog at all, I feel are stringing me along, not to count what kind of owners they will probably be. Im going to send all their deposit back. I wont be keeping one penny. I am under no obligation to sell to people I dont feel good about, and where would they have a case at all? I reserve the right to return a deposit for my own reasons. I have valid concerns and am not selling to them. SO they can sue me. |
