| Should I ask for $$$ back? I purchased a small yorkie for $1000 for my wife with intentions of breeding. He is now 6 months and his testicles have not dropped. His teeth are also doubled up (like a shark) and both (one layer of teeth and testicles) will have to be removed. Should I ask for some money back? What sounds fair? Should he have lost his teeth by now? And what about his testicles? Is it possible that they will still drop? Thanks, Kyle |

| You can get his teeth pulled out. I have read on here alot where that has happened. As far as his testicles go, I would wait a little longer for that. Did your breeder give you any kind of refund aggreement or guarantee. If not, I bet you might have a hard time getting any money back because his testicles haven't dropped. I am by no means any kind of expert, just putting in my opinion. I am sure there are tons more people on here with way more experience, maybe they will help.

| I would give him a little more time. I got Gus fixed at 6 and a half months almost 7 and they had just dropped. As far as the teeth go, it is very common for this. My Gus got them pulled at the time if his surgery. Is it both top and bottom? Gus's top teeth came in just fine but had the shark like row teeth on the bottom. I think he will be ready to go in a few weeks. BTW,, welcome to YT!!!!

| Teeth like shark?? LOL. I know what you mean, my little boy looked like he was chewing rocks. I took the snaggle-toothed critter to the vet and had them yanked about $100. About his testies not dropping, what does the vet have to say? Money back? I would try but at best they give you a health guarantee, for 6 months. You dont have any health issues. The teeth are cosmetic, and this empty sack problem could work out in the end. Best of luck, Sami |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Did you sign any contract that stated hereditary defects are covered? Undesending testicles are a hereditary trait. You bought this male with the hopes of breeding him, however, you need a written guarantee. Have you spoken to a lawyer on whether you have a case or not?

| I would think talking to a lawyer would cost more than he could ever hope to recoup. Of course dependant of where he lives, lawyers charge $150-$300 an hour. I think more than anything this a matter of good faith on the part of the breeder, and convincing the breeder to see his point. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Don't know where you live, but the lawyers around here give free consultations then if you feel to pursue it, you can file in small claims court for under $75 and do it yourself. I had to do this with a breeder once (shy of actually filing) that held on to the puppy papers. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ghlight=beware

| I did not sign any contract and have not spoken to a lawyer yet. I hope it doesn't have to get that dirty. We're thinking about asking for a good deal on a female pup if the testicles don't drop. |

| $1,000 is the going rate around me for a pet male Yorkie so it really depends. Two out of four of my Yorkies had their double teeth pulled during their cleaning and happens a LOT in the small breed dogs. My vet likes to wait until 1 year to see if they will fall out on thier own OR wait for the cleaning. I personally wouldn't ask for money back for a teste not descending same as I wouldn't ask for money back if my female doesn't show well. Just me though...

| WOW!! Are you guys serious. He hasnt even contacted the breeder yet. That would be step one. Small claims court is a last resort, enless you have a lot of free time on your hands. I hate court, its not fun. You have so many better options. getting a discount being a win-win situation. |

| I don't think either of these things are the breeder's fault. Baby teeth not falling out is VERY common with Yorkies - the vet can just pull them, this isn't a defect. Also, my breeder told me that yorkies's testicles can take up to a year to drop. I think maybe you're being a little too quick to blame the breeder - and a lawsuit?!?! I think that is absolutely ridiculous. JMHO...
