I was one of the ones you offended as I am black. I can see you being upset with people for jumping on you for have parti coloured yorkies....but there was no need to use African Americans/Canadians in your analogy. I'm fairly new here and never expected too see this....I am a true lover of the parti/biewer and am actively seeking one to add to my two. I honestly don't understand why the big controversy(sp) over this issue. We need to agree to disagree without attacks on another persons view point. Not every color is automatically paired with a genetic health problem. Yes the merles and some other "whites" do.

If I believed passionately in a certain "color" for the Yorkshire Terrier, and I went above and beyond to safeguard the health,structure and temperament when breeding for the color I want; if I had a meaningful health guarantee, if I stood behind my puppy purchasers for the lifetime of my dog; if I volunteered at my local dog club, if I funded and supported research into the genetic illnesses of our beloved breed, if I trained and championed my dogs in the venues that permitted me to. How then could you reasonably say I am Not a Reputable Breeder?????? Highly insulting to me.

For heaven sakes folks; just say without any heat, parti colored, goldens, browns, etc are not approved colors for the show ring. You can even say the YTCA, does not support the deliberate breeding of "off standard" color. Nor does the YTCA condone selling practices that mislead the public, by charging more for the "rare" colors.

Allow these folks to have the passion of their beliefs, respect their dedication to an ideal that is different to yours.

There are many more serious concerns with the YT, namely all the bybers, puppy mill churner outers, that don't breed for health, temperament, or structure, nevermind color!

This is a very meaningful, passionate, and well thought out post. These threads always upset me because people always get hurt in them. Although I love the color of a standard Yorkshire Terrier, health, temperament, structure, coat, and movement are more highly valued qualities than color. You are the epitome of what I consider a passionate, ethical, loving, honorable, and reputable breeder. I've come to value and count on your judgment and opinion.

There are so many beautiful Biewer and Parti babies on this board and some breeders who care very much about breeding happy, healthy tri-color babies. I never saw a tri-color Yorkie before I found YorkieTalk, and I love seeing photos of these beautiful babies. I hope that people would stop to consider the feeling of those who treasure these special tri-color Yorkies before they post here.

Again I apologize, was not meant to be the way it was taken. Yes, we are of many people as it should be, and we are of many yorkies as it should be without all the harassing. Love one another even if you don't agree with them.

This is Hilarious!!! and YES.. this man did leave us all in a Pickle for sure.. would love to have been able to sit down for a chat with him! He may have been able to clear up a few things for us.. some of which I'm afraid we may never know.

I do so appreciate the way this thread has turned.. I hope these "discussions" can continue, peoples feelings can be expressed, ideas can be shared and maybe even minds can be opened to different possiblities. Debbie, you are not breeding according to the YTCA. You proclaim to have Yorkies but it boggles my mind on why you are not following the YTCA guidelines with your "Yorkies". Chocolates and Partis are not following the YTCA guidelines for breeding. Are you saying you are breeding for a Trendy Pet Market? I am not writing this to be mean but just to understand.

Why is it so hard for some to accept that there are some of us that love the tri color yorkie (Biewer or parti) and that there are a few good breeders that love them also. It is possible these same breeders are capable of breeding a healthy tri color yorkie, and not just for profit but out of love. Just as it's possible for the breeders of traditional color yorkies to breed only for profit or for love also. You have to consider the individual breeder and not place them all in the same category.

BTW, I would LOVE one of your healthy CHOCOLATE YORKIES! It's like some people saying my Biewer if or is not a separate breed. Regardless of WHAT Zachary is, he is my little parti colored Yorkie boy and I wouldn't give him up for the most perfect looking conformation wise Yorkie out there. Your dogs are GORGEOUS.

With all the hoopla about breeding to standard, all one has to do is take a look around at the Show Ring The German Shepherd can hardly walk now, looks like frog legs, So over-angulated that young dogs and pups have to walk on their hocks, that is just not pleasing to watch anymore. The Pekingese that won Westminster could barely walk, where is that dogs free movement? His tongue was hanging out after he walked just a few steps. I honestly thought it was painful to watch him struggle just to walk. The basset hound is suppose to be capable of long endurance, have reach and be fluid. They are so fat they can barely make it around the ring. Some of the dogs noses have been bred so short they can barely breath. So many of the show dogs that follow their standard have become so exaggerated that it has become detrimental to the health,welfare and soundness of the breed. I could go on and on about some of the breeds. So don't tell me about standards, I know them very well. I would rather have a healthy happy dog with a wrong color coat than one with many health, structure and temperament problems. I am sure most of the pet people feel the same way.
I breed for Health first, then structure, the color is just an added bonus of which I am fond of. I have a very high standard for my yorkies.

eiyieyieyie...do you realize that you just did exactly the same thing in your post that you are accusing Standard Yorkie breeders of ? Your insinuations are far more reaching...you covered many breeds there...health, color etc., its the same argument...your criticizing and critiqing them...the only difference is they are recognized by akc and yours are not....how do you expect to make headway in this arena if you do this?
