Snow Blue Yorkies?

Does anyone remember Snow Blue Yorkies. Remember her name? Just got on her site and she is now selling Chocolate Yorkies and Biewers.

Well she posted this on FB.....Snow Blue Yorkies

I have bred and owned 5 Champion Brittanys but i refuse to show my yorkies with close minded people such as yourself. I know what the standard calls for that does not mean it cant be changed to update with the times. It is people like you that wont even open their eyes and embrace what could happen to the yorkie if thy would let a variation of it in the show. Show yorkies are dieing out, one by one its gettting smaller and smaller. No market for the show dog, the YTCA better take note and get aboard before the mountain of color takes over then they will have NO say so on what happns with the yorkie. When a mountain gets so big it will shadow the valley.

Then when I pulled up her site I saw that she is Breeding Chocolates....When will this stop? People need to think about the life they are bringing into the world. My God....

Unfortunately, so many of people seem to believe that just because an attribute is cute, we should breed for that quality, many want more and more variation, and that’s not what purebred breeding is about. Standard should not change due the popularity of new fad, only in the beginning when a new breed is being formed should standard be tweaked, but once a breed is established, there is no reason to change standard except if there is some inherent health risk in the written standard. The YTCA is in place, to protect standard, not to change it to cuddle to the trendsetters.

By the way, when she says “there’s no market for the show dog”, that’s where her interest lies, in the marketing of dogs. Breeders should not breed because there’s a market for the dog, they should breed because they believe in the breed, and the written standard. If not, find a breed you do love, or don't breed. We already have too many pets who need homes.

Agree These people just need to stop and think. I have learned so much on what it takes to be a GOOD BREEDER. UNETHICAL BREEDING: Any person who breeds dogs with profit as the main motivation and without consideration for the health and well-being of the puppies is guilty of ethical crimes. BREEDER: In the respected world of dog ownership, a breeder is someone who breeds only when they breed for the betterment of the breed and intend to keep one of the offspring. The betterment of the breed c...onsiders the entire standard and not just any one characteristic of the standard. The primary difference between puppy raisers and breeders is “awareness of responsibility; responsibility to the breed, to their goals, to the dogs they have bred and to the dogs they hope to breed. They also have a never-ending responsibility to the people who have bought her dogs, to the people who are about to buy her dogs and to the public image--not only of the dogs they have been producing but of the breed itself.” A breeder is a creator; they work toward a goal of perfection in their mind’s eye. They do not allow themselves to be deterred by others’ views or by what is currently popular; they don't breed to fill a market of what will sell. A breeder takes the time to mentor, to share their philosophy and help those who ask over the rough spots. They instill within those who have purchased their puppies a sense of belonging, a pride in ownership. Breeders are there to answer questions, to encourage training, to teach critical assessment before breeding. They take responsibility for the dogs that they produces for the life of the dog, always willing to take them back if necessary. Breeders are not motivated by money or supplying a market. They do the necessary genetic background testing and assure the dogs they breed are free of genetic problems. Breeders are those who have paid their dues, studied, learned, been mentored and now are also mentoring. A breeder will have earned and continue to earn the right to be respected.
