Melanie, it is to my understanding that you posted that puppygirl was an experienced breeder and had her own website and then you edited it immediately but Kathy saw it before it was edited and now you're saying that sometimes things get out of control? Seems to me that you stirred the pot and then sat back to watch everything.

Puppygirl...I'll try to explain what I have seen...in your previous posts about roached backs, you asked questions, yes but the tone of your words led ME to believe that there was more to it than you were letting on. Then you mentioned professional dog people (something like that)...SO, if you were new and stating that roached backs were only cosmetic, shouldn't your own people have educated you differently on that? It seemed in your posts that you were just wanting to argue. JMO.

I was trying to gently correct a common misconception about roached backs causing a lack of soundness. I guess I blundered big time. I'm not good at diplomacy.

Kim, you didn't see it. Shyorkies DID have that in her post and deleted it immediately. I know that I've edited posts immediately and the last edited thing doesn't show up. But she DID do it!

I am having trouble with the 3 fault rule.

If I had a "too die for" Yorkie..everything going for it, coat, color, ear set, personality on and on...BUT it has a roach back, that's it folks! I can not deal with a bad top line. It is the first thing that you see as it walks across the floor. It destroys the entire look of the Yorkie in my eyes. It woudl be super worse on a male since he can sire so many puppies.

Can't doa bad under or over bite..or flop ears..so for me it depends on the fault.
I do agree, correcting a structure fault is so hard. Correcting color or a bite is childs play next to a top line. It effects the way they move and it is not worth the hassle to me.

I hate to say but Kathy is mistaken!!! I NEVER said that Puppygirl (whoever she is) had a website! I never posted and then edited it.. I only posted what I thought about the situation.. Kathy needs to take her problems with me and email me privately instead of posting things that are NOT the truth!!! I NEVER stirred any pot..

Jen its great to have new breeders on YT that can share and learn from one another. This debate was really very interesting until it became obvious you were not inexperienced to breeding or to the breed. Breeding 101 no matter the breed still remains the same if the soundness of a body structure is less than perfect it should never be bred.

gosh all I can say it would have been nice to know that you were a breeder.

Well it was explained to me that you need to determine the faults you can live there are a few I can't live with myself and they may be different than the next persons. If I took the same example you said Pat about the 'perfect yorkie' who had grade 2-3 LP I'd being eliminating that from my program. I've been told I'm CRAZY for doing that because you can't see LP in the ring. It's what I'm comfortable with. So I understand, sometimes it may not be even 3 faults.

I apologize as I did not make myself clear on the three strikes your out.. The three things I cannot live without as far as structure and appearance is head (I need a beautiful head piece), topline and silk coat.. As I had mentioned I do not even bring into it genetic defects, because if they had a genetic defect of any kind they would be spay/neuter and placed into a loving forever pet home..
