Also, to everyone else, I know I won't be able to sit at my computer while she is delivering. But, I do most of my posting from my phone like right now. I will have it with me and will post when the time comes. I respect the heck out of all of you, and just know you all can give me reassuring advice. I will talk in detail with my vet when I take her in about him keeping her during her delivery. I want what's best for this mamma to be and will do everything possible to ensure her a safe delivery. In the meanwhile, I still am also going to prepare for a home delivery just in case. I have most everything but have read about the liver remedy, etc and will make sure I have a batch mixed up along with nutrical. I know these are the small things, but small things count too! I still have 3 weeks to make sure she gets the best care. And that is my priority.

| I'm totally confused about the situation (I haven't been on YT in days) but I just wanted to let you know that I will have this little female in my prayers.

| What a freaken mess. I can see where your heart is, but can't help to see that you are supporting this BYBing with your mind in one place and heart in another. Want to wish momma and the innocent pups nothing but the very best. Hope this works out for you.

| I have to agree- at some point you are going to have to cut ties with this breeder- because each pregnant mom you house, litter you whelp and then raise just gives her more time to add more litters to the world. At some point, you just become her assistant or unpaid partner.

Go to Petfinder and Petharbor and take a long look. I am sorry to tell you that this woman is not going to stop...and certainly not as long as she has you feeling sorry for the pups in her care. That is how this works....mills and byb play on the sympathies of people...people who think they are going to be saviors for these poor pups. What they do is make room for even more to be born ... unwittingly becoming what someone said...a partner.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | By the way, what happens to the puppies, will you be finding a home for them, or do they go back to the breeder?

| So, from what I'm reading, I should walk away, right? Just forget it all and turn my back. Because I don't see how that will help either! This is a lose-lose situation. I hate that I ever got involved. I dont want to "support" her. I want her to fix all of her animals. I can't make her do that though, can I? Thank you for making me feel like I'm doing the wrong thing. Yes, they are her pups. She will get them back. I was going to insist on keeping them 12 weeks before she sends them off verses the 6 she does. I am possibly keeping 1 because she offered it. If I do, she will be spayed. I just don't know what to do anymore! I know there are tons of yorkies in shelters! There are also tons Born to bybers. How can I make a difference? I can't can I? I can't open her eyes and make her realize what she doing is wrong....I can try, but I can't MAKE her. I'm not an ignorant person, but right now I sure feel like one.

| You have to know that the title of your thread and your first post are very alarming. Why did you wait until it was obvious from several of us that you had left the wrong impression? It took until post 35 before you came on and said you have whelping experience with small dogs. Quite a flair for drama you have there. Were you just trying to get a stir out of us? Nobody was mis-reading things. You left out critical info that would have made a world of difference in our replies. I, for one, don't like to be toyed with in this manner. Best of luck, but on this one......I'm GONE FISHING!

I know it's frustrating for you, but when you find a bad breeder who really is mistreating her dogs, call animal control. Also, see what you can do to get your state law changed, you may be more effective at this than convincing one breeder at a time to keep them 12 weeks. Most states are passing 8 weeks laws, and maybe you could convince your representatives this is a good idea.

| I am simply telling you the reality of this situation. I am not going to sit and say nothing when I feel there is something that perhaps someone needs to hear. I cannot tell you how many people do what you do and fail ...it is a rare byb or mill you can actually convert. Oh, they think they are saving pups just as you think you are. But, honestly, how can you call that saving them? They are in your home...and then returning to her? Why? Ask yourself why she is allowing this? Is this making her life easier? Of course it is. And, ask yourself if you can be assured that she will not just sell them to anyone....leaving them to one day be dumped in a shelter by someone who probably should never have been able to purchase them. If you know there are so many in shelters then why not go there? I can tell you that the rewards of really saving a pup are amazing! I was talking with a rescuer one day about a pup that was going to be euthanized the next day if someone did not take him. She said their group was full and then turned around a minute later and told me about two of her members who were going to drive from TX to MO the next day to pick up some mill pups. I could not believe what I was hearing...while that dog was being euthanized the next day her members would be on their way to pick up mill rejects making more room for the mill to get new breeders in. I personally believe that those are some really mixed up priorities.

I guess I am confused. How are you, kind and willing person that you are, helping this pregnant Yorkie and her pups? Is it that you are going to whelp them and keep them the first 12 weeks, even though your original post said you are not ready for whelping? I'm just confused by how your personal involvement when you are not ready helps the dogs and also helps to change the BYB's attitutde about irresponsible breeding, while covering any legal liability you might incur in the process?
