I am simply telling you the reality of this situation. I am not going to sit and say nothing when I feel there is something that perhaps someone needs to hear.
I cannot tell you how many people do what you do and fail ...it is a rare byb or mill you can actually convert. Oh, they think they are saving pups just as you think you are. But, honestly, how can you call that saving them? They are in your home...and then returning to her? Why? Ask yourself why she is allowing this? Is this making her life easier? Of course it is. And, ask yourself if you can be assured that she will not just sell them to anyone....leaving them to one day be dumped in a shelter by someone who probably should never have been able to purchase them.
If you know there are so many in shelters then why not go there? I can tell you that the rewards of really saving a pup are amazing! I was talking with a rescuer one day about a pup that was going to be euthanized the next day if someone did not take him. She said their group was full and then turned around a minute later and told me about two of her members who were going to drive from TX to MO the next day to pick up some mill pups. I could not believe what I was hearing...while that dog was being euthanized the next day her members would be on their way to pick up mill rejects making more room for the mill to get new breeders in.
I personally believe that those are some really mixed up priorities.
