There is no set placements for markings except the tan markings on the face of a tri colored parti. That meaning they have to have the same placement of tan markings on the face that they would have if they were just a blk/tan.

The parti cocker is judged every day in the AKC show ring from this standard.

Thanks.. I see they do go into detail, and I suppose we could defrine it closer by defineing the main color as white and stating that the spots are random, and of any size or number. Also the color on the head is to trun tan.

This is an interesting example...The Cocker Spaniel is either Parti colored or solid nothing in between...The Yorkshire Terrier is not a solid colored dog so the example for genetics is not the same!

But that not the colourful yorkie standard so how is relevant? The standard we been shown vague.

No it is not. but the word parti still as the same meaning of random spotting. Not all 3 colored dogs are considered to be partis.

I'm not placing too much emphasis on color, thats the way the standard is written. Color is an important part of the yorkshire terrier standard. I'm not arguing with you that the parti colors spots are random, my argument is that you need to be very specific when you write a standard, and what you have written is not specific. I'm saying a judge would have no idea what a great example of a parti yorkie is, by what you have written. I'm really trying to think of this by how a judge would evaluate it. Lets say everything else is the same, head set, structure, ect and we get to color, how would a judge evaluate the parti colors?

Disqualifications for Cocker Spaniels shown in AKC....

Height--Males over 15½ inches; females over 14½ inches.
Color and Markings--The aforementioned colors are the only acceptable colors or combination of colors.
Any other colors or combination of colors to disqualify.
Black Variety--White markings except on chest and throat.
Any Solid Color Other Than Black Variety--White markings except on chest and throat.
Parti-color Variety--Primary color ninety percent (90%) or more.
Tan Points--(1) Tan markings in excess of ten percent (10%); (2) Absence of tan markings in Black or ASCOB Variety in any of the specified locations in an otherwise tan pointed dog.

There are many disq. with the added white to their breed!

And that will NOT be the way to get anything accomplished with the YTCA...That will just prove the point that many unethical things are being done with the breed they love...The known carriers will be known and breeders will further tighten their lines to protect the Yorkshire Terrier as we know it and love it...

Yes I think you are right, we need to specify that the spotting is to be random and of not particular placement or size or number.

I'm not sure what the judges, that are judging them, are using as a guide, since I am not showing.

Maybe they don't evaluate the color at all. maybe when it comes to color, anything goes.

Yes I agree...Very bad route for them in long run, they make lot of enemies betraying trust like that to claw way to top.
