I don't expect you to cry why would I?? I don't respect anyone that is in it for profit but I guess that is where you and I differ....no one should charge more just because of demand....placing the puppy in the right home should be the main concern not the higher price...demand should be the last reason to be charging a higher price in my opinion and I do not respect that either...but I can't tell another breeder how to price their dogs even if I don't agree with it...I think it's not the way it should be done but it's their dogs not mine. My main concern is the safety of my pup and the it being the right family not because of demand or any other reason. Donna

if someone has commited a murder - and they refuse to admit it even though all the facts are there - do you "repect" that person? no, not really. if someone has commited a murder - and they own up to it - admit that they did it - and tell you why they did it - do you have more "respect" for that person than the person who lied and made excuses? murder isn't good - obviously. but saying you have more respect for a person that owns up to what they are doing vs. a person who makes excuses regardless of the facts doesn't mean you CONDONE it. all i'm saying is i have more respect for the person who says, "i sell females for more than i sell males because of the demand" than i do for someone who says, "money has nothing to do with my breeding practices, but my females do cost more than males." of course, that's assuming the prices are based on sex alone - not blood lines, show quality, etc.

| I understand what you are saying. We all know what our breeding practices are, and if it doesn't apply to us personally, there shouldn't be offense taken. I honestly believe in what is behind "Thou Protest To Loudly" but, in the this part of your post; YT members will stick it to you,D every time, when you speak in generalities. Well, you know what they say about painting with a broad brush. who say money isn't a factor (and then sell females for more $$)." was turned into me talking to everyone! if you don't do that, then i wasn't talking to you!

but again, i said, "gives a little insight to the breeders who say money isn't a factor (and then sell females for more $$)." was turned into me talking to everyone! if you don't do that, then i wasn't talking to you!" "THE breeders WHO SAY..." not "ALL breeders - period, regardless of what they say" there's a huge difference in spite of the small word. if someone can't see that, i don't know how to make it more clear. My reasoning for choosing a female was because i wanted a momma's girl to dress in cute outfits w/ matching bows. But boy was she a hassle to train. My sister's males were easier than her to house train. So i don't think i agree w/ someone saying a male is harder to train than a female. Just IMO.

| Hey, they have some really cute stuff for boy dogs now. We have a camo outfit, summer surfing Ts, a yellow raincoat and hat with a fire hose. I know! Crazy! My hubby has bought them all. I did try and put on a hoody sweat shirt on one of the pups yesterday and was it funny. The hoodie even had slots in it for the ears to come out of. On a show note - we have some great bows for boys for in the ring. Carl and some others do a great job making the bows. Some of my firends will comment boys wear bows? Well, of course they do. How would you keep their hair out of their eyes. |

| I"m just not a person that dresses up my yorkies with the exception at Christmas time when we ride in this certain parade and I dress up Krissy in her Christmas dress and then my old guy in his sweater in the winter. And if my boys didn't have to wear a bow he wouldn't LOL..but they all look cute in bows |

| Wearing bows is standard when you have a dog in the ring....whether a boy or a girl

But, I also believe that when addressing the YT populace....you have to be careful to not speak in generalities. Just a way to keep peace in the family.

| Mary and Donna - You know it was not me that bought the clothes! Believe it or not it was my hubby! Totally! I see him bring home the clothes for the pups and I cring. I ask him what are you buying these for? You know I do not dress up our dogs, since it can tear up a good coat in minutes. He says, But wouldn't it be cute, just to see them in it for a second. Since he has retired - I never know what he will bring home. I did have to try that sweatshirt hoodie on one of the pups yesterday. Poor thing. But promise it was only on for tops - 2 minutes. Hehehehe ![]() I do not worry about explaining either. I think I do very well. I did just looked today on some other sites too besides here on sales (puppy/dogs) and really did not see today differences (male/female) in pricing. I know there can be from time to time, but did not see it today. |

My husband brings home clothes for the dogs too....shirts, hoodies, sweaters....but, just don't put them on the kids.....Now, in the winter, I do put pjs on Charmer...Doc Denton's thermal underwear....he gets cold easier than the others....but, of course he's been cut down for a couple of years...so, I can't ruin his coat. Now I've seen a few advertisements on YT where the seller puts a higher price on the girls than the boys. I just don't think that is a common practice for many of us breeder/exhibitors.
