I wouldn't have started this thread if it weren't such a dilemma for me. I've considered most everything that's been brought up but still it's a hard decision. I think I really need more info before going forward with this.

| Tough dilemma but I think that your concerns are very valid. I would probably be very open and upfront with the couple. Tell them that you are looking out for Tessa's well being and future. I am sure that they will understand and certainly can appreciate the concerns. These days people are living so much longer and I've met senior seniors who shocked me when I learned their ages!!! When my MIL live in an assisted living facility, they were so active and a lot of them were as young as you can imagine! 80 is probably toay's 60. Best of luck with your decison. I truly believe being up fron with your concerns would be the best way to approach this.

| O.K.....I just got off the phone with their vet and got nothing but a total thumbs up from them. They know her and her husband well and told me they wouldn't hesitate in placing a puppy with them. I got some detailed info about the care they gave Sophie, their Yorkie that passed away, too, and it all seems good.

| Nancy, they were very helpful. The receptionist talked with me first and gave me info about Sophie. She didn't know them personally as she has only been there 6 months but got the doctor on the line and she told me more about the couple. I think it all sounds good, so far.

| Great news, Jim! Sounds like it may work out. Placing puppies is a hard thing to do, finding them the best homes possible can be quite a job. But doing your homework to the best of your ability will ensure you are making the right decision.

Mary and Bonny, placing these babies is always difficult for me. You can become adept at whelping and raising babies, but every home you consider is always a unique situation. It seems to get harder with each one....but it's very rewarding to place a baby where you're confident they'll have a good life.

| Do breeders ask about alternate care plans for pups in situations when placing with younger people? It could become standard language for anyone looking for a pup, the big What If questions. The breeder I got mine from went so far as to ask if my hubby and I had any future baby plans because that would factor into her decision about whether to place a pup... I have to say, I am a protection social worker, and the care and consideration that you are giving to your pups in finding them a forever home is comprable to what I do for a living!!
