My Ollie is due today. So far nothing. But she can go from nothing to pushing in a flash. Her first sign is vomiting, so far she hasn't. |
pics posted We have pics in the nursery- Jasmine had 6 babies (I am not sure of the boy vs girls yet) Livi, We are trying to wait patiently, You don't want to go to that vet:rolleyes: Is Ollie going to be soon? Good luck everybody. I am still waiting for Tiffany- she was due Wed for her first date and tomarrow for her second date. |

Hi guys.... I just got off of the phone with the vet clinic. They called to tell me that he is leaving early for the day (family related) so she wants to see Livi first thing in the morning...anytime before 9am. The woman that I spoke with this morning was the receptionist so she didn't explain things to me. But this call was from the tech and she told me that she will have to draw blood from Livi and do a reverse progesterone test because some dogs just do not go into labor on their own and this is really bad (which I already knew) I have never heard of this test so I am online getting ready to read what I can find about it. I am in tears....cannot stop crying because I am so worried about Livi and I know her sooooo well and having this done tomorrow will upset her so badly. I literally cannot stop crying....I just hate this for her!! So that's what is going with us...wish it wasn;t, but that is where everything stands at this point. |
Tammy, I have never heard of that test either. Please don't worry. I am sure she will be just fine. What day is she on now? I have had several females go way past their due date and they did just fine. You are wise to get her checked though, just in case. Have a nice talk with Levi and maybe she will get busy and have them before tomorrow morning.:) Hugs. |

Thank you all for your postive thoughts. |
She's really not that much over her due dates, 63 days from her second breeding was yesterday right? Don't worry yet, if she doesn't have the pups tonight, hopefully the vet tomorrow can give you some more information on what's going on and when you really need to start worrying. At this point, I think you're still with in normal gestation dates, so don't stress out too much yet. :-) Prayers heading your way. |

I had a mare that went 30 days over her due date, the foal was fine. Human babies can run 10-14 days past their due dates before a doctor will intervene ... Livi is basically 1 day over her due date from her second breeding ... she just needs a little more time. Monitor the situation with the vet but don't worry too much. Hugs to you. |

I tried googling that test and I really couldn't finda clear explanation. The only thing that I saw was for Bulldogs and even then, it didn't really explain. |
Geoff took the day off tomorrow just to help with whatever I might need so that will be nice!! You know, I just do not have 'that' feeling that there is something wrong...my gut is TRULY telling me that Livi ovulates late and that is what is happening and that maybe she will go into labor tonight or tomorrow morning...that would go hand-in-hand with my gut and how she ovulates. Maybe I should just trust myself more. Time will tell...... |
Oh so sorry no news yet, maybe she will have them tonight and you won't have to take her in tomorrow. It has to be very stressful to deal with this when you have had no sleep. Nothing new with Ollie, she's just laying around. |
Tammy Hormone Levels: Determining Breeding Times and Whelping Dates in Dogs Maybe this will help some. I don't know but I thought it was worth a try |
