Hey! Fancy is not acting as weird today...she is still licking herself ALOT but other than that she is okay. I think I felt my first puppy movement today.

I just wanted to say congrats for all the puppies!!!!

I'm praying for a easy whelp!!!

Congrats on your new angels and what a lovely whelping! I'll tell Teddi that the runway is cleared for her. She seems happy to take her dear sweet time. She just lost a chunk of plug and had diarrhea so she's clearing the way and at least thinking about a day whelp.

No, not yet. I have super slow dial up and it would take a hundred years to upload it. I'm collecting pics and ideas for it though.

I'm bored senseless!!! Teddi is doing her best to imitate a corpse but if I roam too far or am gone too long she gets agitated. I've done laundry and my book just isn't that exciting. I've written friends and pestered them online. I hate puppy watch, I feel like a prisoner in my own home. I'll post pics of Teddi!

Dont you JUST LOVE these little angles. They keep you on your toes all the time. PG or not. I totally agree with you, it is so boring just watching and wishing she will start to whelp:snore:. I just tell them dont be so stingy and share those pups with me now. I still have 2 1/2 weeks to go. I dont leave her very long, my husband says she is attached to my hip. Where ever I am she is. I think I have been able to feel the babies start to move. That is so exciting. We have an appointment on Wed to have her x-rays cant wait she will be 50 days then.
I will be here again tonight on puppy watch.

Laughing my butt off here...
I went thru the same thing while waiting for Nala ..Remember.
I caught up on chores..(with a mama to be following me around)
Posted online. Caught up with Emails from people waiting online.
No sorry no puppies yet over and over.
Then that night I even went to the Off Topics and uploaded and posted pics of my lil bitty goat farm.
I was going crazy. And sure driving others crazy too.
I know just what you mean.
Teddi is one cute mama. (cover her ears now) :p
She reminds me of the stud I used for Allie

Sue ...I'm pretty sure thats a wee bit to early to see clearly isnt it?
Do you mean sonogram? I've never had one of those on a dog.
But I know they show earlier

An xray at day 50 will usually work. It's safe for mom and pups at that point as the vital organs have done most of their developing. The bones have usually calcified by that point but if your looking to see if all of the pups are about the same size and in a good position it is a little early. I try to wait until a week before her first due date.

The first picture is from the breeder. When I saw it I just fell in love with her. It looks like she's saying 'take me out of here'. I showed it to Terry and he said it looks like she needs to come be with us. Bless his heart! I hadn't planned on buying a soft coated bitch who's ear cartilage was broken but I fell in love with her face. She'd been locked up in a cage for 18 months and didn't know anything but going in circles. She's such a mommy's girl now, still goes in circles at times but gives me a cheeky grin while she's doing it. Terry calls her psycho dog but she has the nicest topline, tailset, and color. She's already given me 2 show potential pups and hopefully someday she'll have earned her ROM. She's out of Exmoor and Lamplighters but most importantly she loves me!

No... I mean x-ray. Some vets say 45 but my vet says 50 days along before she will do the x-rays. She should be able to see the little babies to count them and make sure the pups are not to big for her to whelp. I always try to have x-rays done on my first time mammas. Just to make sure everything is coming along good.

Thank you for the insite on this subject. I did not know they would not be able to tell the size of the pups. So maybe I call and change the appointment till the following week.

Awww thats sad and I'm so glad you got her.
Can I ask ..how does ear cartilage get broken?
Oh and I think her ears down are CUTE :)

I think she's adorable with floppy ears too. She has thicker ear leather though they are of good size. The cartilage was never really strong and she grows hair on her ears like nobody's business. The breeder never bothered to shave them after they came up as a pup and the weight broke the cartilage about half way down. When you really have her attention she will hold them up a bit and they look just like a sheltie's. Her daughter is the same way. It took me almost 5 months to get her ears up and I had to shave them every other day.

Oh my goodness! You know she looks a lot like Brooke...and she has BEAUTIFUL pups. Her last litter is 9 weeks old today, they're cute as buttons and I may have a little boy (Dallas) to watch. I'm holding him back and keeping my eye out. She's soft coated too...boy isn't that a pain in the a** to brush though? :rolleyes: Here she is...

Actually she doesn't matt and only gets brushed when it's bath time, about once every other week. Occasionally she'll get a bit of a matt where she pees on her back legs. She has enough hair for 3 dogs and we keep her in a puppy cute cause she's so darn cute in one! Your Brooke is adorable. Good luck with Dallas, I hope he pans out for you. It's so fun to see them mature into everything you hoped they would be.

I was just talking to hubby and I think I will call my vet tomorrow and talk to her to see if she will be able to determine what size they will be at this stage of the game, or if she thinks I should wait another week.
I am not as concerned about how many babies, it would be nice to know for sure though. When her tummy is tight I can feel at least 4 poss 5 pups. Just a little concerned about the size more. Lacey Bugs parents and grandparents are small 5 lbs and under. But that is as far back as I know on her. I know Tigers line back 4 generations and all are small 5 lbs and under. But... you never know what is lurking beyond that. Lacey Bug is 5 lbs. 2 ozs and Tiger is 3 lbs 13 ozs. Another factor is this will be the first litter for both of them. Thank you for helping me clear this up. My friend tells me I worry too much and obsess over my dogs too much. But when it comes to their health and well being I dont think you can obsess or worry to much.

Teddi had her pups at 3:00 this morning. Two fat gals weighing in at 7 oz. & 6 oz. No mom's not oversized, she weighs 6.5 pounds. They just had lots of room and lots of good food! So, who's next?

Looks like the month is starting out with the majority of the babies girls. Im not saying it like a bad thing. I just hope I will have more girls. I have three girls sold already. Now watch me have all boys:rolleyes:
