How are all the new mommas to be doing?

Girls, I am going crazy here!!! Please don't think I am the impatient type and just wanting her to have them ...because I'm quiet the opposite...I just don't know about Fancy...she will not eat anything, she is panting like NONSTOP, and she has been favoring one corner all day... I really don't think she could be farther along though. I noticed her bleeding on March 4. She has always kept herself super clean though...but that is when I noticed it. I wanted Fancy and Woody to mate so I kept them together from the first time I noticed her bleeding, so try and insure that they did their job. I kept them in their pen at night together (I know now that it was a mistake because injuries can occur if you are not their with them). So the first take that I notived them tie was March 16. (12 days after noticing first bleeding) So I don't think she could be farther along unless they tied in their pen when I did not see them and it would have had to be at night because I am home 24/7 except to run outside or to the grocery store but other than that I am always here and they were not showing interest in eachother before March 16. But she is showing all the signs of whelping pretty soon. I did take her temp. this afternoon and it was 100.0, I will check it before I go to bed. Her behavior is definately starting to change. I just don't want her to into preterm labor...I don't know how often that happens in dogs. They are really kicking!!! You can see them just moving everywhere! Her vulva also looks bigger than it has been. I don't know girls..How many of you have had their dog deliver 1-1 1/2 weeks early? Thanks!!!!

Keep an eye on her. They can go into preterm labor, but its not always good if its before 58 days.
It is possible they locked at night without you knowing. I would see about getting her to the vet tomorrow to be checked just to be on the safe side.

Niki, that is why it is recommended to never keep the male and female together unsupervised, you never know when they might breed. There are two females on here now that the owners never saw them breed but they are pregnant. It is most likely your boy bred her when you were not looking. Dogs will breed as long as 21 days after they came in heat. If she had puppies 1 week early they would not make it. How much movement are you feeling from the puppies. It is urgent that she eats. Give her some nutri-cal. It is possible she is having an eclampsia attack. When pregnant moms do not get enough to eat and the puppies are growing and draining the calcium from the momma and then it could cause eclampsia. Without seeing your female I really don't know if she has a problem or not. Take her temperature again, if it is eclampia she would start running a fever. If you think she is in trouble then please take her to the vets.

Niki, from everything you're describing, I would say she's closer than you originally thought...

And an update for me...I am 99% sure Lola is not pregnant, so you can take her off the list. She has milk but I believe it's a false one...

Attachment 215487 I bathed kandie tonight and got her belly all cleaned up. I made a typo on her being due on the 20th. Her first due date is the 18th, that is day 63 but she has gone as early as day 59.. I am getting her xrays on monday the 12th. that makes day 59 on the 14th. she is so large this time.. she generally throws two.. but she is sooo huge I am wondering if I should see about bumping her xray to this friday.. I am so anxious now because of her size and all day today she has been moaning..she is still eating.. but moaning lots. any suggestions would be great.

I am excited, scared and need so bad right now to know how many are there.. I did not have the male in the house.. so there would be no mistakes here...unless she is going to go early again.. anne

How is Fancy this am,I woudl be checking with my vet if her symptoms continue some do get eclampsia before they even whelp.
I know this post is quite late after yours but if this am she is still acting funny I would at least give my vet a jingle.

Hey girls! I got Fancy to eat last night. I have her some turkey and cheese to put in with her food and she ate really good. She is licking her vulva like crazy and just trying to stay in this one corner or on my bed. She did have a loose stool this morning and I took her temp last night before bed and it was 100.2. I took it this morning and it was 99.8. She isn't really lethargic she will get up and move around. Should I still give my vet a call?

I always base to call the vet if I have a gut feeling something may not be right.It never hurts to call then I dont have any would of could of should of in the back of my mind..If she starts panting again and no temp drop or a increase in temp I woudl call.
She sounds fine to me and her temp is normal she is eating and having stools so:thumbup:. Mine had loose stools a week before she deliverd
Her hiding can be just nesting and wanting privacy that can happen in the last 2 weeks.My mommas have a nice quiet spot the last 2 weeks away from kids the other dogs and us if wanted and they usually do.
They also get very uncomfortable the last 2 weeks just like we do when we are heavy with a baby.

Niki, you're on the roller coaster. I think Fancy's whelping earlier than you thought!

Hi everyone does anyone else have this prob with their GOOD WITTLE BABIES?
I was this morning and picked up my through rugs to shake them out. And much to my surprise there were a few little wee spots on them.:eek: Dont you just love these little babies? :thumbup:
They are all potty trained to go outside. Or maybe... they just want me to think they are. I think they are all doing it when I am not looking as to say "HA HA Mom". :D
I know when the mamma's are expecting and in the later weeks of pregnancy they have to go more often. So I take them out at least 8-10 times a day an on nice days I keep the door open so they can go out whenever they want. At night they all sleep with us so when they need to go out they will wake us up by climbing on our chests and licking us in the face. Its like they think my through rugs are wee pads.
Does anyone else have this problem? Or are my good widdle babies the only ones that do that? Gota love them!!!!!
I guess I am bored and just wanted to chat. And as my kids say the only thing I ever talk about is my yorkies and cooking and of course my grandkids.

My family says the same thing. If it isn't about Yorkies or cooking I don't know about it anymore. HA.

I just let our 12 week olds (2) out to play, but put belly bands on them. I don't trust anyone at this stage. New moms, in heat girl, randy little man, 12 week puppies. They are just little pee machines. Like you say, you gotta love them!

Fancy is definately doing that!!! She goes it seems like every 5 minutes. She just had another very loose stool and she isn't finding her puppy pads either! This is not like her...if she can't hold it until I can get her outside she will use the puppy pads...USUALLY not anymore! I took some really good pics of her belly and now it won't let me add them onto my comp. So I don't guess that did any good. I wanted everyone to guess how many she was going to have..but I don't guess you have anything to go by.

Hey girls! I decided to go ahead and take Fancy's temp again...99.3 this time. I guess we will see if this means anything. I'm really hoping that she goes closer to the 18th..just because I don't think they tied earlier but I do not know. I decided not to get her xrayed because this is not her first litter. She has a litter with Woody before. If I had extra money then I definately would. Well, girls...I promise you will be the first to know if anything changes! I think those babies are at gymnastic practice right now in her belly!!!!

They are just fighting for position! Everyone wants to be the first out. :D

Niki, it sounds to me like your little boy and girl did a little hanky panky while you were sleeping. I bet she has them pretty soon. I will be praying for a safe delivery.

Hey girls!!! I am so freakin' mad at this stupid computer!!!!!! My kodak easyshare doesn't work anymore..can't find the cd to reinstall it and my cpmputer shuts itself down like every 10 minutes..so we have ordered us a dell and it will be here soon, but this is so aggravating! So I am trying to gfigure out how to load up pictures a different way..if anyone knows please inform me! I want ya'll to see the pics of her belly!!!! I am really hoping that she doesn't have them really soon. I wouldn't doubt it if they did the hanky panky all in the dark in their little crate all by themselves....I mean it sounds like the perfect setting! UGH! I hate this! She's laying on the couch across the room and I can see the pups moving! I really hope someone else will be on when she decides to have them! I do not even have everything I probably need..I don't even know what I need..I am panicing!

Niki, take a deeeeppp breath! If you panic, she'll panic. There's almost always someone on, and if there's not you can call me. I don't care if you wake me up, for puppies I'll do anything...lol. If you want my number I'll PM it to you, but just try to stay calm. There are some awesome lists on here with everything you need for whelping, but the things I can NEVER go without are LOTS of towels, "the snot suckers" (that one's for you Deb;)), scissors, hemostats, Nutri drops, Calsorb, plastic bags to put the placentas, scales, a piece of paper and a pen, and did I say LOTS of towels??? There are other good things to have around too, but those are just the things I gather when it's time. :p

I was in bed and woke up to check on her and she was on my little boys bed and I felt her push twice so I picked her up and brought her in the office with just me and her and she hasnt done anything since...it was dark in there so I couldn't see anything but that is what it felt like...I don't think she would have quit since I just brought her in here...I don't think. I think I am fixing to take her back in the bedroom and go back to bed. Oh, and i took her temp when I got in here and it was 99.4.

Hey girls! I don't guess anyone read my other post last night...or should i say this morning. I don't know what that was..it was dark in there and couldn't see but she was doing something funny!!! Her vulva is bigger to me this morning and there was a huge glob of clearish-yeloow come out this morning. There is a pup very low in her abdomen and there hasn't been one thus far. Her temp this morning was 99.6 and she is digging in any cloth, shirts, blankets. I guess we will see!

Talked to my sister last night and she says I put the wrong date, her Pepper is due around the 20th.

Busy weekend - we'll be watching for Hunny, Lily, and D'Lynn! I don't think my friend's Penny is pregnant, but I'll leave her on for a couple more days!

D'Lynn beat me to it. She surprised me this morning with her puppies! I was startled awake at 6:30 this morning to the sound of a crying puppy. I really was surprised, she sure didn't act like she was up to anything. I was up until 2am and checked her just before I crawled into bed and she was sleeping soundly. As soon as I heard the crying I ran in and she had just had #3!

Now she has 5 total. 3 boys and 2 girls. All between 3 1/2 oz. and 4 1/2 oz. I'm not completely sure if she's done. She's either got a couple of placentas left or another puppy. :D
