Hi ladies,
Just wanted post a couple of Lacey Bugs belly pictures. :D She is 53 days today and getting bigger by the minute.
I keep watching and reading about all of new mammas, and looking at all your beautiful pictures. We cant wait to have these little angles with us to care for, hold and to love.

kandie is really wanting her belly rubbed a lot now.. she is getting bigger..and sticking by me more..her first litter came on day 59, I had just put the whelping box in our bedroom for her to check it out.. I was on the computer and I hear a baby cry.. dogs and us going running in there and yup she had delivered her first one..so day 59 is wednesday.. so I begin to be restless.. I did not sleep last night at all.. just laid on the bed and watched tv.. I will be tired this afternoon..it is like my body is gearing up for the nights already..anne

Hey girls! My eyes are like barely open typing this. I was up with Fancy all night last night. She had 3 contractions last night..I don't know if dogs have braxton hicks...but she had 3 contractions...she will probably have them when we are at church today and visiting our mothers.

I would never dream of leaving a expectant mom if I thought she might be in labor. I hope she waits until you get home.

:thumbup: Agreed, not to scare you but you may come home to a litter of dead pups, or worse, a dead mom. :(

I start dragging my moms with me everywhere I go, even to use the bathroom, about a week before their due date. If I'm suspicious that a particular day might be "the day", I don't leave the house, even for a second.

Hope you can stay with her.... I missed Christmas dinner once because my girl was ready and the dinner was not at our house.

Hey girls! Fancy seems to be doing okay..no more contractions. She is panting like crazy!!!!! She isn't eating but her temp isn't realy down..99.7. She wasn't left. I surely thought that she was going to have them last night or this morning because she had 3 contractions. I just didn't know dogs did that. Will the pups stay active until they deliver or will they slow down?

I find they slow down, but there may still be some movement for those waiting "in the wings". If she hasn't had them by tomorrow, I would check with your vet. Better safe than sorry.

Lily had her puppies yesterday evening. I was gone all weekend and she seemed to wait until I got home. She had two males. This was her first litter and she did great. The first one was born breech and took a while to come out. I was so nervous.

Fancy hasn't done anything...do you think I should wait a little longer to see the vet because of the first tie being she would not be due until May 18. She seems to be perfectly normal today.

When is the last time y’all give your dams a bath before their whelp date? I’m gonna have to get a pic of Skittle’s belly. Her belly is big but doesn’t seem to be firm. She has had morning sickness, been off her feed, laying around a lot, trouble getting on the couch….tho now we pick her up if she wants to get up there. I’ve tried feeling for the pups but no luck. Today is suppose to be day 53 for her. Her and Chico tied March 21, 22 and 24 or 25 (I’m at work so I don’t have my calendar with me). Could her whelp date be later than the 24th maybe?

I give mine a bath up to Day #55 and make sure I've got that belly shaved.

Alrighty then. I will be doing that. And of course I come home from work and I am holding her in my arms like a babe thinking to myself...shoot your tummy is firm. Them babies are up in her ribs, what was I thinking. I tell ya, I was OVER thinking it. She is so funny when you rub her belly, if you stop she kicks you with one of her feet but if you stop and put your hand on her ribs she'll push it down with one of her front paws! She has always been all about getting her belly rubbed, I mean just get right on her back when people walk in the door! I'm so excited!!!!!!! I'll post belly pics after she is bathed and shaved.:D

Yep, I'm taking her for an xray next week, so we will see how that turns out...maybe I'll tell how many puppies she's having...or maybe I won't...;):D

She is huge.... poor little girl with a bandaged leg.

Chloe is the one that picks fights with the other yorkie girls and attacks them at random...it's a looonnnngggg story but she didnt come from the best place. It wasn't my idea to breed her, but they wanted to...and I love her, so I agreed to take care of her during whelping and raise the puppies. She's a sweetheart to us, and to Maddie, who is her best friend, but she hates certain ones I have and will just go after them in an instant.

What happened to her paw is that this time she went after the wrong girl, Mikayla, who has a young puppy nursing. They fought and Chloe tried to kill Kayla, so I reached into the pile to grab Kayla...because all I could think about was saving the momma to a 2 week old baby (at the time...she's now 5 weeks). I managed to get a hold on Kayla and I pulled her straight up and out, but Chloe was holding fast to her back leg, and when I pulled Kayla up, Chloe was just hanging on by her teeth. Before I could get Chloe off, she fell and hit the hardwood floor, landing on her paw. It's broken, she has to keep the splint on for another 2 weeks at least (6 weeks total from the time it happened).

So that's the story...:rolleyes: It wasn't fun, I had bites and scratches all over my arms. NOt the first time I've been in the middle of a yorkie fight either, my mentor's yorkies get into it all the time when I'm there because they all want attention at the same minute. Last time it happened one of hers bit my finger down to the bone. :eek: I stop feeling pain though when I'm trying to save another ones life. I don't hesitate to reach right in there and grab whoever I need to...lol

What is it with these yorkies? :rolleyes:

oh yeah! i remember you saying something about these girls not getting along.

I've got one that just goes off unexpectedly on another of our females. I broke up three fights, and then separated them. Now they take turns getting out of their pen.
