| Puppypetite in Brooklyn? Hello! I'm Natalia, I'm new to the boards. I don't have my yorkie yet, as I am in the research stage. I do know I want one for sure though; probably between November and January. I live near NYC and have come upon a place called Puppypetite in Brooklyn. Has anyone had any experience with these people? Good or bad? The website is www.puppypetite.com They said they offer a one year health guarantee and a couple free vet visits, as well as a chance to have the puppy checked out by your own vet. What do you think? Thanks! Natalia |

| Welcome to YT! I checked out their website and the very first thing that came to mind was puppy mill!! Sorry, I don't mean to offend you, but it's the truth. Any time I read "teacup" on a website I'm instantly turned away.

| I checked out their site too... they sound like a Broker to me, or a puppy mill operating under the guise of a broker . Anytime they list several different breeds a red flag should go up. Also, the fact that they are listing teacups - which don't exist! - is a red flag to me. The site is too flashy and.. I don't know.. just gives me a bad vibe... doesn't say to me "caring, responsible breeder" - know what I mean? I would keep looking - Try finding a breeder local to you where you can actually go to their home and see the living conditions the puppy are raised in and see the sire and dam. There are LOTS of members on here living in and around NYC - ask around and see if anyone recommends a breeder. Good luck in your search! And welcome to YT!

| Aww, no offense taken! Thanks for the wecomes! You know what, I was thinking that maybe I can just stop by there one day and look at the place, check out the puppies...I know "teacup" is a term frowned upon. But if the place is clean and the puppy is healthy, does that make a difference? I'm sorry, I'm so new to this process I know I must sound completely ignorant! Does anyone know of a good reputable place in NYC that sells yorkies? Cheers, Natalia |

| Just a suggestion - do a search in the breeders forum for NYC area breeders. There's a forum on here for highly recommended breeders too I believe. You can also start a new thread that asks that question so that it doesn't get lost in this thread.

| Just wanted to add that I researched over on the breeders forum and I've reconsidered puppypetite! Yikes... But there were a lot of references for another place in Brooklyn which everyone raved about. Thanks again everyone! Cheers, Natalia |

| I recently got my yorkie from quality pups in the gravesend section of brooklyn on stillwell avenue. There are a few other yorkietalkers who got their pups there too. They only sell yorks and malts and they are very knowledge. The yorkie I ended up buying was a tiny and he asked me all kinds of questions and he wasn't trying to force any on me it was very comfortable. You can pm if you want more info

| Don't Do It !!!!!!! First let me start by saying my baby comes from a pet store . I would not purchase from puppy petite... I organize a meet up group in nyc that has a member who's story i think you should read ...See Below ..... " I purchased my puppy Ella from Puppy Petite. I have had so much trouble since the day a purchased her. She has patella luxation on both of her hind legs, her head bobbles, and she may have a liver problem. I have called them and told them the troubles and they told me that they would take her back and refund my money. How could I give her back, she is not a peise of furniture! She was very expensive and they would not give me some money back. I tried to contact the owner and the staff would not put my through and claims they do not know the owners name. I would never go there again and never recommend them. " I am not biased im going on the pups i have seen come out of this place. PS. THis is just my opinion . I have read up on this poor puppy mill. | I called Puppy Pettite before I got my babies and the way they spoke on the phone so unprofessional. I wanted to ask questions and they would cut me off and ask me to call back at a later time. I never called again after that. I see it this way...if I am going to buy something from you and I'm spending alot of money.....I will want all the attention I can get and all my questions answered....if you cannot give it to me then I'll walk. |

| My Spikey I got my baby from "Puppy Petite" aka "Puppy Boutique" without realizing it was a puppy mill until several friends told me about it. My Spikey has a slight trachea defect. It is slightly collapse thus making his barking sound like a soft "wuff wuff". But I don't have any regrets as he is the love of my life now!

| NO to Puppy Petite and Quality Canine Just ask Christine (YT screen name "CCHU") about the health of her Yorkie Zoe who came from Puppy Petite. Poor baby had to have surgery on a luxated patella and Puppy Petite gave her HELL about paying for it!! They didn't give a crap about her dog, were extremely rude and gave her nothing but grief during that entire time. I would NOT recommend them. And as for Quality Canine (located on Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn), I bought 3 dogs from them. But I would NOT recommend them ever again!! I really don't want to type out my reasons again because I posted them in another thread yesterday but here's a link to that thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...quality+canine My post is #9 on the first page. I will copy and paste it below so that you can read it here too: I use to rave about Ivan and Quality Canine ... but I was sadly mistaken. Let me tell you my story and hopefully it will help you make your decision. I bought 3 dogs from Quality Canine: 1. Codie, a male Maltese 2. Katie, a female Yorkie 3. Tia, a female Yorkie ALL three have had health problems. Codie had severe luxated patella in his rear left leg at a little over 1 year old and Ivan REFUSED to pay for anything or even help. Codie had to have surgery. Also, Codie has very poor gums (they sometimes bleed when he eats hard food). Katie (rest in peace little angel) was diagnosed with SEVERE kidney disease. Tia had a bad case of coccidia and almost died the first night I brought her home. In addition to my dogs, my friend Fran bought her Yorkie, Sammi, from Ivan. Right now as I type this, Sammi is in an animal hospital in New Jersey, dying from liver failure. I would NEVER recommend anyone buy from Quality Canine again. I am so sorry that I ever recommended them in the first place. Please think twice before buying your baby there. I wish you the best of luck in your search for a baby.
