| What would you do? I had an appointment at 3:00 today for a reputable carpet cleaner to give me an estimate on cleaning three rooms of carpet. The person on the phone told me he would be here "around 3:00" today. She said appointments can take longer/shorter than alloted for so it would be around 3:00. I arranged my afternoon to be home at 2:00 in case he was early. It's now 5:00 and no one from the carpet cleaner has called or shown up. I want to call them and tell them to forget it and I'll use someone else. My DH who always sees the good in people thinks I'm an absolute WITCH when things like this happen because I have no tolerance for this kind of stuff. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

| 5:00 is far away from 'around 3:00'. I personally wouldn't even open the door. |

| I was thinking about calling and "expressing my feelings" but I don't think they are worth the effort.

| Most places like that give you a ridiculous window, like from 11am-4pm or something insane. I am actually surprised they gave you such a specific time as "around 3:00". I'd be irritated, too. No call or no show, I would just hire another company. Maybe shoot them an email, but don't be too mean, and explain why they lost a customer.

| My husband calls me a WITCH because I fly off the handle and give people a piece of my mind when things like this happen. I did that once and it came back to bite me. I try to be nice but I guess being nice isn't in my DNA.

| :( I agree with don't open the door and as for calling unless you might use them again with a discount don't bother not worth your time or effort as the guy on the other end doesn't care he's only there for a paycheck |

| I think it's very unprofessional to have made the appointment and not kept it. I wouldn't do business with them either. Don't waste anymore of the holiday weekend waiting on them.

| Called and set up another appointment for next week with another carpet cleaner. Let's hope this one goes better. I still can't believe no one has called to explain what happened - guess I am living in fantasy land.

| I am just like you. I don't like when people just take advantage of me. I would have definatly called them and told them off. No question about it. They say around 3:00 and it's 5:00 and no call? no one shows up?? That is BS. Did they mean 3:00 in your time zone??? people are ridiculous. They say that the economy is bad....and their customer service sucks. I say my money is green everywhere and if they do me wrong there is a guy down the street who will give me good service for my money!

| I would just call and ask if they were still planning on showing up. I just had a carpet cleaner at my house a couple weeks ago and the poor guy was understaffed and owned the business. He said he was coming around 5 and showed up at 8. He really was a hardworking guy, he was just over loaded with work. One time I had GE scheduled to come fix my dryer. They said they would be at my house between 8-12. I called as it got closer to 12 and they told me that the guy will be coming. A couple hours came and went, so I called again. Same answer. The guy is just "running late". More time past so I called again. Same answer. More time past so I called again. Same answer. I was getting increasingly agitated by each phone call. By the last time I called it was after 6 and I was extremely irritated. FINALLY the representative told me that they didn't even see me scheduled. WHAT THE HECK?! I told him that someone needed to come out NOW because I had been waiting since 8 AM. He said that couldn't happen because all of the techs were off for the day and I needed to reschedule. I was really angry.

| You know it is not your fault that they are understaffed. They are a business and they should not make appointments that they just can't keep. I brought my car in for service last week at 9am. I had an appointment!! They had the car all day. I called at 3pm to find out if it was ready and they told me they were really busy and they couldn't get to it that day and wanted me to reschedule. I was fuming!!! I called and spoke to the service manager and they did my car that day!!!

| I am anxious to see what happens Tuesday. I think the office will call and want to reschedule because he was running late Friday - then again, may never hear from them. This is one of the few times I decided not to rent something and do this myself.

| I'd definitely be finding another carpet cleaner AND I'd be getting on Angie's List or other similar sites and posting about the first company's poor service. Word of mouth can be a company's best advertising source for new clients. It's also the most common way a company can lose clients. |

| I made an appt with a landscaping company. They never showed, never called. So I sent them an email saying that I may have misunderstood the date and time of the appointment even though I had written it down at the time we spoke and made the appt. I also said that due to the urgency of the job I had to call another company and although they quoted me $10,000 I had to go with them. Send the carpet cleaning company a nicely worded email letting them know how much money they lost out on. I never heard from the landscaping company again, but I bet they are kicking themselves once they got my message about it being a $10,000 job! LOL
