| Honestly, I wouldn't... I changed my plan when Harley was healthy (raised my deductible to have a lower monthly fee) that was incredibly stupid, cause now that I need it (have spent about $2000+ these past 6 months), I can't increase his insurance and I definitely need it. I never thought a 2 year old pup, from a reputable breeder would get so sick.

| I agree deonk1. No one enjoys paying the premium every month but believe me when your presented with huge bills, even with the deductible, it's a life saver. Your dog may be healthy now, but that can all change with a blink of the eye with either an illness or an accident and you'll be darn glad you have coverage then. |

| Well, first i would like to say that just like with everything else there are going to be some negative opinions. Not everyone is going to like the same thing. Second, you have invested all that money already so if you cancel its gone anyway. You just may need that insurance one day and it will be good to have the backup. Of course that is just my opinion.. We have savings in case of emergency with the insurance as a back up.. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I quit telling people how much i pay VPI for 5 dogs... but you know what, I go to bed every night knowing my dogs are WELL protected in any emergency.. and I only care about the opinion of ONE other human, because when I can't pay he pays the bill, and he agrees with me on it, WHO cares.. you do what you think is good for your baby and that is it... hugs, |

| I pay for all 4 of our babies...but I added it up and it runs me about 1000 a year....that is nothing compared to one bad sickness...Mack alone ran up 3000 bucks in one weekend! Pet insurance is a must have in my opinion! Who cares what others think!

| If you do research on Embrace Pet Insurance you will see that they get top ratings. They are a great company and they stand by you. Even their accident only insurance would cover things like a dog getting hit by a car or a dog eating a bunch of poison or clothes. They are not a hassle to deal with. Even their CEO will talk to you personally. I have used the insurance on my daughter's Chihuahua about 2 weeks after we moved to a new state. It was a crazy time and our dog got a pulmonary edema by choking on her own vomit. I didn't even have a vet in town yet so the last thing I wanted to do was to worry about how much things would cost. Embrace reimbursed me all that my insurance covered. If you go with them just make sure your vet(s) send any and all health information to Embrace. They want everything from the time you've owned your dog even things like vaccination iformation or well dog checkups. This way all you have to do is have your vet fill out a short one page claim form, have the vet fax any new health information including the one you are claiming on, and have the vet fax along receipts for the illness/accident, and you or the vet can fax in the claim form. You get your reimbursement back fast. |

| I had Trupanion for Zoey's first year. Then the deductible went sky high and I changed to PetPlan. Then Zoey was dx'ed with Legg- Parthes. Surgery was $2800.00 and the plan did not cover it because the vet said she could not say "100%" that it was caused from an accident or genetic which they don't cover. Also, the diagnosing of the problem was not covered and that was $400.00. Next year I will be changing again and reading the conditions of coverage very carefully.

| I have PetPlan and I am extremely happy with it. Roxi was diagnosed with minor MVD (which is genetic) and PetPlan reimbursed me almost $2,000 for all the testing, liver biopsy and exploratory surgery she had. Considering at the time I had only paid in $150 in premiums at the time, I can't complain. They reimbursed me exactly as the policy I chose stated. And their customer service is great. They did make a mistake on the one of the claims, but I had an additional check within a week.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | We are still debating pet insurance. For now we have sat up a special savings account for Katie Scarlett that is separate at the bank. We put so much into it each week and do not touch it. My husband would rather we do that than anything else so I just let him have his way. I am reserching the different pet insurances though.
