| Is it wrong to ask for a lower price? This is my situation and I'm not looking for advice to pick another breeder, because if it comes down to it I will eventually pick another one, but right now this is my situation... We found a man word of mouth who has 2 yorkie female puppies for sale. He lives in our state but the yorkies were in another state. He told us he would would bring the dogs so I can see them if I wanted them I would pay him. First he said it was going to be a week wait, (this was last week) they were suppose to be here with the pups on Monday this week. He later told us that they were coming on Weds. this week. a few days after he told us Weds, he eventually told us TODAY Thur. they were coming to our home. We confirmed yesterday and he said that he was still going to come. Now he told us today the people bringing them are driving and doesn't know when they will be here. He already lowered the price once for us when we first talked about the dog... do you think its wrong to ask to lower it again because of all these changed in when he is going to bring the dogs? Thanks for your input, but please I'm not looking for advice to find another breeder at the moment. |

| Some timing issues don't mean that a breeder should have to lower their price. As long as breeder is keeping you updated, then I would pay what is being asked. That said, the whole thing sounds very odd and I'd be extremely uncomfortable.

YT 1000 Club Member | I am with Ellie May on this one. First of all the guy has got to be a broker. There is no way a breeder has to wait for someone else to bring puppies. With that being said I wish you the best with your new pup.

| run... sounds fishy for sure. I thought broker even before I read the posts! You will be so much better off finding a good breeder. Even if he lowers the price you may be getting a sick puppy that will cost plenty! Good luck

| You may not want to hear that you should get a different breeder but you really should because it sounds like a puppy broker. That is what I got my yorkie Callie from before I knew about puppymills and brokers, most brokers get there puppys from puppymills. Even if the puppy looks healthy when you see it doesn't mean anything before a vet sees it or even what problems it will have in the future. Callie has grade luxating patella in both back legs, mild collapsing trachea, and the vet believes possible arthritis in her back. Also when we first got her she ended up with diarrhea that turned to her pooping blood.

| No way would I buy a puppy from this person. The whole story is just too strange and doesn't even sound right. Just take your time and find a good, reputable breeder. I just hate when people jump into this too quickly because they want that puppy now. Just remember Good Things come to those who wait.

| I understand that you do not want us to tell you to go with another breeder. However I have to say that you do have to take caution for yourself and the little one you are wanting to bring into your life. Please let us know how things go though.

| I'm with everyone else. Forget about the price, the whole thing is shady. I'd tell him never mind and start doing research for a reputable breeder instead.

| I wouldn't buy the first yorkie that you run into. Buying a Yorkie isnt like buying a purse. You cant "return" the puppy if he is sick. Sounds very shady and the guy doesnt sound like he cares who buys the puppy, he just wants to make some cash, I honestly think you need to do some research, look into some REAL breeders that care about their puppies and raise them with love, attention, and make sure they are healthy. Its a good chance you will have more problems than what you are willing to put up with, if you buy a puppy from this "guy".

♪♥ Jazi & Izi's Mom ♥♫ Donating Member | Walk away...quickly....better yet...RUN AWAY!! I knew nothing about Yorkies in January when I decided I was going to finally get one. THANK GOD the byb (didn't know that term at the time) couldn't get a health certificate (duh...her puppies weren't healthy). She kept telling me different stories each day. I was so mad that I couldn't get my puppy, she stalled me for 2 1/2 weeks, I decided to check out the AKC website. I found a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL breeder and my puppy is soooo much cuter and HEALTHY than the woman who kept giving me stories. When she was finally old enough to come home to me, he had me meet him at his vet so I could have her checked out. He was so thorough and always checks on us and wants to see pictures of how Jazi's doing. Trust your instinct. As much as you want a puppy, don't support byb and brokers.
