Recap/Update on my search for Yoshi.

You have all my info if you wanna talk or visit let me know." so i know it won't be a problem to get him back. but from some of the pictures i looked at, i can't really tell if it is him. i am waiting to speak to the vet that scanned his chip tomorrow to ask a few more questions. and then i am going to see if there was a way she can take him up to my vet which is close to the daughters house to get scanned since that is where he was microchipped at. i was back home from the end of may to middle of august. and she found him june 1st. but i was now only notified a few days ago that he was found and now i am back at work. how do i take off anymore time when i just got back from being off 2.5 months. why didn't his chip scan when i was home so i could have ran to get him? i am more confused now than ever. the daughter stated that she had a vet tech friend scan him for a chip when he was first found but no chip was found. then when she rehomed him with her mother her mother took him to a vet in winfield, ks who scanned since it was procedure to scan for any chips when a dog is bought in as strayed. so i have questions to ask the vet as to when did he scan the chip. so many questions bouncing through my mind. can't sleep, can't think, just going crazy right now.

I understand your emotions are all over the place. Why wouldn't they be? But okay, accept that fact and keep it moving in the meantime.

PLEASE GO GET THIS POOR BABY! This is so upsetting to watch/witness -- all this hesitation. I'm sorry, but I must be honest here. If this were my baby, I'd be OUT THE DOOR in my PJs, if need be, to get that baby in my arms. My God, he needs you; you don't even *know* this person he is living with. PLEASE get him asap!

I know you are still having a hard time believing its Yoshi....but he was found by his microchip number. In order for them to get your number to contact you, his number would have had to come up when they scanned him.

If someone just said they found a dog in the neighborhood you lost yours in...I'd say "maybe." But because he was identified by chip, his ID number, it's definitely him. Each number is unique to the animal that's chipped.


What about a doggie transport company?? Maybe someone can recommend one. Has anyone used U-ship?? It's the shipping company on shipping wars??? I know they deliver door to door and I know they deliver animals.

So, it sounds like the biggest problem is finding out how to get Yoshi to you without causing problems for your job. Two solutions have been suggested so far. Is the doggie transport company an option for you? Have you looked into that to find out if it's something you're comfortable with? If not, the YT member transport sounds like a great alternative.

Yoshi has been found!!! Let's not make him wait one more day. He's waited far too long already.

Not all scanners scan all chips. That is why the vet tech didn't detect one.

It has been five years. Pics will be different. He was also neglected, so looks will change.

If they were just now taking him to a veg that is also a problem.

Take a day, fly to get your dog.

Lord have Mercy! Please go get Yoshi. Have the YT members do a transport if you cannot afford to go get him. There was a pup on the Internet in Canada that was gone for 5 years that remembered his family. Yoshi Will remember you!

Please go get him or surely someone in your family or a friend can help you out. Are your other 6 dogs with you out of town? If someone is watching them for you maybe you can have them help you out. Yoshi needs you!

If you cannot handle another pup in your home, I will be more than happy to take little Yoshi in and care for him and find him a perfect furever home.

I would hesitate to leave him with a woman who clearly has not taken really great care of him.

If it is just a matter of getting him until you get home, I am sure we could figure something out. Just please, let's get him out of there.

Now I see that the elderly lady has had him since June? In that amount of time, if Yoshi was happy with her, it would show in his picture. Instead, he looks as though he's lost his last friend and clearly isn't feeling secure in that home. Go get him or find someone that will.

They are standby only on the Alaska Air route system. Big discounts in airfare. for example: Seattle to Kansas City $60. each way. Wow! What an unbelievably kind and generous offer.

Bottom line is that Yoshi is alive. He was not happy as he was found scared and matted up and miserable. These people have cared for him and that is great but they have not had him that long. I am sure they will be more than happy to reunite him with his MOMMY.

Take one of these generous offers to get your Yoshi home to you. You are scared because of the unknown. But he is YOUR baby. You are HIS mommy. Go get him.

You have to decide, either you want him or you don't. I think you are afraid of his condition and if he will remember you. Maybe you thought you moved past this mentally, but now it's back. Will it haunt you forever if you don't go get him, knowing that he might not be receiving the best care? If so, then go get him now before he goes any longer without proper care. I'm sure they will get him to a vet for shots and paperwork if you pay for it. Maybe the daughter or a friend of theirs can bring him using the air passes someone recently posted. A little $$ thrown at them as a "reward" might help. Also, the first vet might have missed the chip due to technology, or maybe they just didn't want to tell you (it was a "friend" that scanned it the first time) until they found out that he needs some medical attention and they don't want to pay for it, or because he has not adjusted as well as they hoped.

I am still confused about where he was from the time he was gone until they got him in June. They "found" him in June? Is he a runner? Maybe he ran from you and then he ran from whoever found him the first time?

Regardless, you need to make a decision. Figure out your budget. Call the vet that saw him and see what he needs to have done to be given a travel certificate. Ask the lady to get him the vet care and certificate and offer to pay airfare to bring him to you (using the discount passes somebody offered) and offer to pay them something for their time. OR, send someone to get him but also offer to pay them something and pay for the vet certificate to travel. OR, just let him live where he is.

I am beginning to think you have some of the best solutions. There is a lot we do not know at this point, and that is causing a very emotional turmoil for Mary and for many of us.

Trying to help Mary find the best solution for Yoshi, everybody should consider some additional facts to give the best outcome for Yoshi's future.

Looking at Mary's profile and pics in Yoshi's album, I assume he was born in 2007, he went missing 2/20/09, so he was with her for about a year and a half, then for almost 5 years nobody knows. We can't tell if he was happy or not, or if he is content and well cared for at his present temp home. Who knows if he'd be happier in Mary's home now with 6 other Yorkies, and Mary working. Maybe he has been an only dog for 5 years, and likes it.

Mary has gone thru a lot in losing her job and home, and it's not up to us to judge if she is able to take on a 7th dog. I don't feel that she doesn't love him, but can understand that she also wants the best for HIM, regardless of her feelings.

I wish he could end up with Yorkie Haven Rescue, to be vetted and evaluated, and for Yoshi to end up in the best possible long term situation.

Just trying to see the big picture here.

This is why I offered to take him. She may not be in a position to take him now and honestly that would not be good for him either. I have messaged Mary and if she wants help, I am more than happy to see what I can do to help her and Yoshi.
