| anyone who advertises "christmas puppys" usually throw up red flags for people ! what are the weights of the parents? some people buy "christmas puppys" for people who may not even want or are ready for a puppy as a gift . the person buying a puppy doesn't ness. keep the puppy!

| I Love Thor Donating Member | I think Lorainne put that as kindly as she possible could. It didn't appear that she was accusing you of anything, just trying to be a helpful friend and share her love and knowledge of yorkies...for the welfare of your sweet pups. And that's not to say anyone thinks your stupid or that you don't know how to care for your puppies. Try and step back, and rather than taking this as a personal attack, take it as a friend reaching out. Have you found any homes yet? They are soo cute, thanks for sharing the pics! If only I could talk my BF into another puppy...I'm driving through OR in January!! Best of luck! |

I am not even going to even get into selling 6 week old babies.. selling puppies at Christmas is not just a bad idea, IMO it is a sales ploy invoked by breeders who really do not care about the welfare of the puppies. At this young age it would not hurt you one bit to hold onto these babies another few weeks. You just want the money. And please..don't feel sorry for me, save your pity for those puppies. | |

| To me protecting the welfare of any animal comes first. I will speak out and I did. If you doubt the Christmas puppy or bunnies at Easter as you call it 'Myth' talk to any animal shelter rescue you want to. Yes purebreds do end up in shelters after Chrstmas, the ones that live that is. As I posted Christmas is too dangerous a time to introduce a new baby into a home. Much too easy to get out doors that are opened with visitors coming, getting into food and ??? at parties, stepped on, sat on, you name it or plain old forgotten while shut up in the laundry room and dying of a hypoglycemic attack because of all the stress and no one noticed. The prospective owner may be fine to not step on or sit on the pup, but what about the visitors coming and going and new stuff for the pup to get into. There is a lot more to think about here and yes anyone selling like this at Christmas is the biggest red flag I have seen yet. I don't pretend to 'know it all' and I am not judging anyone. I will speak up however, with what is plain old common sense. |

| OMG, I got Luna at 9 weeks old, with no holiday things going on, and almost lost her to hypoglycemia! 6 weeks is way too young to let a puppy go to a new home, especially at Christmastime. And someone needs to get their big girl panties on and take the advice by the experienced folks here as it was meant, not as a personal attack Maybe there should be a policy about these puppy for sale ads: That one has to be a long standing member (x amount of posts, or time here) before they can advertise any puppies for sale. It just seems to me that the ads that throw up the red flags have very little posts. Or am I nuts? |

I am the first one to say something in for sale threads when I think members are being unfair or mean, but no one on this thread was. They obviously are trying to help you. Any puppy under 10 weeks is to young to go to a new home, and in some cases 10 weeks is still to young. I wish you and your puppies all the best , but please don't walk away with the impression that they were attacking you, they were honestly trying to help.
