Wow, what a burden you must carry... You seem to think you know so much about other people without ever having met them...and you have the answers for other people when they don't even ask you a question. Your house must be immaculate, your family relationships must all be loving and kind, and your world must be so perfectly organized that it doesn't require your attention or care. Surely you've heard the saying: "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"... think this might apply to you?

First, you assume I am too stupid to know about the risks involved in sending puppies home on Christmas -- what, do you think I don't talk to the people who are purchasing our puppies (I have never spent less than an hour with a prospective buyer, by the way) to find out about their home, why they want a puppy, finding out what they know about puppies and helping them to understand the needs of their new puppy they are taking home? Do you really believe that people pay $800 -$1000 for a puppy and then abandon them at the SPCA?! Not the people I sell the puppies to! These folks know the value of a dollar, and value their new puppies highly. Every puppy I have sold has been to a home that has been looking for and waiting for and wanting a yorkie for weeks, if not months. These people would no more dump their puppy at a shelter than forget to breathe.

Everything you note as risks at Christmas time for puppies are risks that I discuss with buyers at all times of the year -- don't you?!? Puppies must be protected and cared for, there is never a safe time to let a puppy chew on certain objects or be ignored if it needs medical attention.

How sad for you that your first assumption when you read about someone who is expressing joy about puppies and joy about Christmas and happiness about a healthy birth -- is such thoughts of evil, death, destruction and loss. I feel very sorry for you.

Susan, I responded to your pm shaming me as well but I do want to point out that I have a 3 lb yorkie. I also have a very small family. I spent the entire Christmas Eve last year carrying her because she was underfoot last year with all the extra people in the house.

I am not even going to even get into selling 6 week old babies.. selling puppies at Christmas is not just a bad idea, IMO it is a sales ploy invoked by breeders who really do not care about the welfare of the puppies. At this young age it would not hurt you one bit to hold onto these babies another few weeks. You just want the money.

And please..don't feel sorry for me, save your pity for those puppies.
