To me protecting the welfare of any animal comes first. I will speak out and I did. If you doubt the Christmas puppy or bunnies at Easter as you call it 'Myth' talk to any animal shelter rescue you want to.
Yes purebreds do end up in shelters after Chrstmas, the ones that live that is.
As I posted Christmas is too dangerous a time to introduce a new baby into a home.
Much too easy to get out doors that are opened with visitors coming, getting into food and ??? at parties, stepped on, sat on, you name it or plain old forgotten while shut up in the laundry room and dying of a hypoglycemic attack because of all the stress and no one noticed.
The prospective owner may be fine to not step on or sit on the pup, but what about the visitors coming and going and new stuff for the pup to get into.
There is a lot more to think about here and yes anyone selling like this at Christmas is the biggest red flag I have seen yet.
I don't pretend to 'know it all' and I am not judging anyone. I will speak up however, with what is plain old common sense.
