| Hello Jessica, Naples is "paradise" is some ways. However, I'm originally from a liberal, midwestern college town. Unfortunately, Naples is not ethnically or culturally diverse. In Naples you see a lot of lip augmentations and capri pants. Back in Ann Arbor, it's nose rings and purple hair. In Naples, George Bush is King. In Ann Arbor, they still have their Kerry for President signs in the front yard. When I've been away from one or the other for too long, it's like landing on Mars when I go back. DJ |

| In Ann Abor they cut their lawns with old fashioned push mowers. In Naples they refer to you as "the guy down the street that cuts his own grass" if you don't have a lawn service. Yup, I cut mine. LOL |

| I HAVE HAD A FEW LITTERS AND I THINK PERSONELLY THAT IT IS GENETICS...my puos are stasndard Yorkie pups, 3-7 lbs. at maturity and none have ever needed Nutra-Cal or Drops. Mine play hard, but my bloodline is stong and sturdy like pioneer women. my female had 9 pups in an hour, laid on 2 after 4 dAys, so we had 7 pups and i kept one from last litter. thast is Itseys pic under my name, she wassnt 2lbs till 13 weeks. now she is pushing 4lbs at almost 8 months........never had nutra-cal and i'm proud of itr ad so are my clients. i have it but never had to use it. My pups like all Yorkies run 500mph it seems when they play and play hard, no one has ever had problems, so make sure you check your bloodlines or breeders. i buy only stong dogsthat dont have low blood or liver shunts or knee problems. i dont want a dog that shakes either. that is what i want a cobby short leg bodied square cute yorkie 3-5 lbs. | Brittany- You mention genetics in several of your posts. Could you please explain your theory as to HOW 'low blood sugar' is strictly genetic? From what I can deduct from what you are saying, this is a problem that is only inherited? |

| So many think little ones get it or they get it from playing hard. Why haven't I ever had it at all. want to explain that???? My girls are like pioneer women, strong and hardy, but yet are pretty and have the tencity of Yorkies. My pup plays hard real hard, runs like she's going 500mph, never once did i ever give her nutra cal and she never needed it. i have had small ones, but they didnt need it, I watched them but they moved and drank from mom, i guess mom has good milk. i think it's got to be partly inherited. i have asked other breeders and alot of them have never had to use it.......so go figure. brittany |

| Oh, OK....I thought maybe you had facts to back up these claims, not just what you suspect the situation to be. Forgive me for saying this, but you really can't justify it as being genetics based on the fact that you've been successful without it in the past and other breeders have told you they have not had to use it either. That doesn't prove that it is inherited...just that your pups didn't need it for whatever reason that may be. However, I see that in several of your other posts, you seem to place alot of emphasis on genetics and things that are inherited. I hope those other statements are based something more concrete than, "well my dogs never had to have it." |

| Don't know if I should reply or not. I'm not in FL but do have Yorki puppies and am expecting a litter in 2 weeks if you might be interested in waiting. I live in GA and our law is to sell not under 8 weeks. I personally will not let any puppy leave untill they are physcally, emotionally ready to leave. Some puppies are ready to leave at 8 weeks and some are'nt ready till they are older. They are eatting dry food, paper trained, playing and are very socialized. I raise the 3-5 lb yorki's and consider myself to be a very responsible breeder because I tell the truth about my dogs. |

| I agree brittney I keep nutra cal just in case one of my girls needs extra energy when she has puppies, but my yorki's are small and I have no problem with low blood sugar. I feed Iams and Eukanuba and my Yorki's weigh between 2lbs and 5lbs.

| Dear I Luv Miko, You've got me wrong, I think Florida in GREAT!!! I love Ann Arbor, too!!! I was just pointing out how different the two cities are. I was rather "tongue in cheek" in my approach. I love them both. Women look great in Capris, too. If you're hair is purple, that's cool. Sorry, I'm stilll not too crazy about the puffy lips. Naples gets a bad rap for being snooty and it sounds like you're judging a person you've never met by where they live! I work hard for my money and live a modest life. YorkieTalk is not the place to be judgemental and it is bad manners and uncalled for behavior to make personal attacks. However, I'd be happy to listen to anything you have to say which is pertinent to my thread. All the best to you and yours, DJ Hey, can I get a little help from the "Yorkie Mafia" around here? LOL |
