| Hello Mi-lands, Thanks for your post. I'm sure you have great pups but I'm looking for a bigger male. Seven pounds, even a bit more would be fine. He's just going to be a pampered pooch so if he's a little over standard weight, that's fine with me. I just like the larger, sturdier, little guys. If a big boy shows up, please let me know. Thanks, again! All the best, DJ |

Size, holding colour, and coat type cannot be quaranteed at that age. Actually if you are looking at something that specific, you would then be looking for at least an 8 months old, not 10 weeks or less. | |

| Lorraine, Thank you for your reply and advice. You should hold fast to your principles. However, I have been contacted by several breeders on this site offering pups from 8 to 10 weeks of age. Having already checked several references for three of those breeders and having seen the pups of two of those members in person, I can assure you that they are most responsible and highly regarded. Not to mention, they had beautiful pups!!! I will be visiting with three more breeders tomorrow, two of whom are members here: one in Pembrooke Pines and one in Fort Lauderdale. My private messages suggest there are many here who have impeccable ethics and are still allowing adoptions at at earlier age. My reasons for wanted a younger puppy are clearly stated in one of my posts and there is much evidence that exists confirming the bonding stage that I refer to. I have three rescues now and over the years have fostered more than a dozen abandoned and sick yorkies. What makes this country great is that we all have our own experiences and our own opinions. Although, I don't agree with you, I strongly support your right to your opinion. Big wet dog kisses to you and yours, DJ Last edited by LookinNswfl; 09-17-2006 at 09:16 AM. |
