Default Suni

This is Suni who is Cut 'N Polished daughter and a picture of her last litter of pups. She had 4 but the little male would not stay on the pillow for the picture. She is slightly bigger than her dad at 5 1/2 pounds. One of her pups went to Canada for show with a couple originally from Romania.

I also use the stuffed tough toys made of canvas as mine will tear any other stuffed toy up. They have a lot of really cute ones out there now in all sizes. Cut 'N Polished is Championed UKC and still needed a few points AKC when my husband who was handling him had a massive heart attack. After that I quit Police dept after 15 years and went to Paragon All Breed Pet Grooming school for 7 months and we built the grooming shop on the property behind our house. We were putting every spare cent we had into it including all our time and could not afford to hire a handler. However I don't think Cut 'N Polished (Gandor) would have gone in the ring with anyone except my husband. I took him in once when my husband was sick with the flu and he sat down and wouldn't move. It was like he was saying, "Dad isn't here and I ain't going without him." I do miss showing though and am going to keep a pup from Suni's next litter. Suni is Cut 'N Polished daughter. I will give her to a professional handler though as I am getting to busy grooming to do it myself and my husband was getting tired of the politics. Hopefully I will be able to attend the shows in this area and watch her though. I really miss the shows and we met some really nice people. Some show people are upity, but there are some really nice ones out there to.
thank you for answering, youre kids are very cute.

I know how it is when a yorkie is used to his handler Debbie did great with my Buster yet when I showed him in the International show he acted up but we still finished

I know you will be very excited to finish him.

best of luck

Default AKC Points

Gosh Ricki,
According to AKC, he only has 2 Single Points, thats 1 point for two different shows out of all the times you showed him.

You are right Cynthia. Blue ribbons only mean a dog won its class and there may be only one entry in that class or more depending on the entries for that show. No points until you get winners dog or winners bitch and you have won over other dog(s) and you compete for Best of winners.
I have been told for the UKC shows, professional handlers are not allowed.

"assistance and encouragement shall be willingly offered to show novices"

Instead of pointing out the show record, I think it would be appropriate to encourage Ricki to continue. If I am not mistaken many of the UKC shows are judged by AKC judges, not unlike the International competition and yes Lorraine you are correct you must be owner/handler in UKC.

Default Points

Hi, nice to meet you.
Yes, that is right, professional handlers can only show their own dogs. There actually are not any Handlers that have their own Yorkies here in Michigan, so they are only competing against another UKC exhibitor or by taking another dog, usually a puppy, with them to make sure there is a point available. It makes it pretty easy that way compared to AKC, especially seeing there are no Majors needed.

Maybe we'll see each other at the National Show coming up in PA, hope you can attend.
Cynthia

But the show record should be correct if advertising puppies for sale based on Champion sired. Many people on Yorkietalk do not know or undertand what showing is about, how points are gotten and how a UKC Championship is attained compared to AKC championships. Certainly we all started not knowing about showing and learned and I would encourage anyone who wants to get a start to go for it.
Cynthia was quite right in pointing it out.

Hi, Ricki.

Your babies are adorable! Like everyone else , I love Munchi's little face. Can you tell this early, if either of these little guys might have that type of face?

Is there a picture of Seka posted somewhere, that I may have missed?

Perhaps Ricki should have pointed out UKC Champion sired in the title of her thread, but the question was asked a few posts in and politely answered, perhaps you missed that.

This is a very different reply from your private email to me, and having 2 single points is very different than only needing a few points to finish.

Yes, UKC does hire AKC Judges. The Judges are paid to put up the most correct dog, it does not mean they think the dog is worthy of a title though.
Sadly if they only have two dogs to choose from and one is a puppy that won't walk they have no choice but to give the point to the dog that will move even if the dog is poor quality.

Serious people are always encouraged,
Cynthia

Cynthia I am a bit confused . I pm'd you asking if Ricki's stud was from your bloodline, the reason I asked is because of your post stating you were glad that someone alerted you to this thread....

you replied "no you neuter all your pets"....next pm I asked if you considered her stud pet quality (because of your reponse), then complimented your kids and your informative website (which you did not respond)...what is different that what I have posted here, may I ask?

Default Cut 'N Polished

For those who would like to know, I was approached many times by different professional handlers at AKC shows when we first started showing as they said they would love to handle Cut 'N Polished. My husband was having fun doing it at the time so we did not hire a professional. (He ended up hating it, which was a real loss because he was very good at it.) People were the reason. There are people out there who believe their dogs are the only (good) quality dogs out there and refer to everyone else as (back yard breeders). You have only to go to my website and look at Cut 'N Polished to see what quality he is and those that cannot see it I guess do not know the breed. It is very hard to Champion AKC without a professional handler although there are a couple people that will say "I do it all the time". They are the show people that would not help anyone starting out showing . They get to much satisfaction out of trying to make others miserable by trashing their dogs and trying to make them feel like low life if they do not have a lot of money. Some think if you are not rich you are worth nothing. We were very lucky when we started showing to meet people like Ron Neal and his wife who went out of their way to help anyone. I will help anyone that asks for advise and never turned my nose up at anyone at a show who wanted advise or wanted to talk. I always remind myself of the time that Ron and his wife took with me. I am not any better than anyone else as a person and I do not put my nose in the air and try to believe I am. Take it for what it is worth Cynthia (which I am sure it is worth nothing to you.) I am glad there are very nice down to earth people on YT. I thank those people for their comments. Other ones do not matter to me. I do not know who thought they needed to send this link to Cynthia, and I do not know why she concerns herself with what I am doing. Ricki
