Parti Color? YTCA?

Just slipping in another breed does not make them breed true. It just doesn't work that way.
I have seen maltese and yorkie crosses and they do not resemble parti's. And neither do the Shih yorkie crosses.

I have a question, I am just innocently wondering.

Why then doesn't one just work for a whole new breed recognition instead of aiming to get the Yorkshire Terrier Standard changed or the acceptance of the YTCA? Neither the Parti or Biewer really look like a Yorkie anyway.

Also, why wouldn't one want to preserve the look of the breed we originally fell in love with?

I love the Yorkshire Terrier the way it is. If I wanted another breed or different look I would have gone in that direction.

After reading this debate I am confused on why some of the Parti breeders (not mentioning any names) even want AKC recognition?...You have nothing nice to say about all of the Yorkie Show People, making rude comments about all the cheating and unscrupulousness behavior...Why on earth do you want to be in the show ring then?...Or even have anything to do with the YTCA?...I can only submise that you want your puppies AKC championed so you can market puppies!..JMHO...

I for one have great respect for our Standard as it is and have faith in the democracy of the Yorkshire Terrier club!...And I am not a member!

Excellent post! I too hope that the Biewer clubs do what is necessary to become recognized by AKC. Once that happens those who want to show yorkie type dogs with white on them will have to buy and breed Biewers. Those who want to continue breeding parti color yorkies, dogs registered as yorkshire terriers will forever have dogs that will not be eligible to compete in the breed ring and will not be recognized by YTCA.

Exactly, that's my point. I think most of the YTCA members and other dedicated show breeders think the parti is not a true yorkie regardless of claims from others. I have seen many morkies and shorkies that look very much like a yorkie and I have seen yorkies that look like morkies or like they could be mixed with something else. Also I have seen many parti yorkies that do not look like a yorkie. The fact of the matter is that there are many yorkies and parti yorkies that are being bred that do not meet the standard, that will never change but those breeders that breed dogs that do not meet the standard should not try to get the YTCA to change the standard to meet their needs. JMO

The parti would be judged the same except for COLOR. What part of that can't you comprehend? The black cocker spaniel does not have pink toe nails either...but a parti cocker does. Oh..and guess what? They share the same standard except for color. I wonder how they do that?

Also, you can twist your motives all you want. You are still changing the standard of the breed.

Ok that is a pedigree but where is the proof that there is Parti's produced from those lines? I have to see DNA records...just because someone says it produced it doesn't make it so, again, hearsay

The Parti breeders cant do that as they claim they are 100% yorkie. You are correct in observing that they dont look like Yorkies. Thats why they want to get their hands on as many "champions" and good breeding stock from great bloodlines.

I don't make the rules either...the YTCA upholds the standard and rules and the majority of the membership.

Yup AKC isn't allowing for varieties and yeah you might be able to buy that for "AKC" to add it but once again the YTCA would have to be the one to put to AKC and again that ain't gonna happen LOL

Maybe they want their cake and eat it too!!LOL They speak out of both sides of their mouths. They would be better off just going UKC all the way and leave us cheating, horrible standard breeders, stuck up Ytca members and our smoke and mirrors way of exhibiting to stumble around the AKC rings.

That is the AKC pedigree look at the color of the dog Hylan Diva's H R it says Black and gold Parti-color
