IMO alot of the europeon lines has beautiful steel blue with the correct gold. I love looking at all the yorkies in the yorky club mag. it has color photos and you really can see the texture of the coat.thius is not to be confused with the yorkshire terrier mag.in which most of there pictures are in blk/wht kathy

I had a long phone conversation with him once and I will say this - he is very enthusiastic about his dogs. I do think his dogs are beautiful though.

I have found you will also find larger, more terrier type in their breeding programs. In alot of the lines you will be giving up correct texture for the dark color and I have noticed structure faults such as rounded rumps/lower tail sets. I have had my hands on many over the years because of my quest and research into the history of this breed I have eagerly studied pedigrees. I have three girls I have kept out of one of my imported females who carries the Ozmillion, Millmoor and Fasmillion, Blairsville and Parkside lines and I am showing most promise with the offsprings of these girls. But it has taken time and work to breed these to the proper male to produce what I feel is acceptable for my program. It is a labor of love to create my line and years behind doing so. ![]() But always keep in mind, there is also coloring and enhancing even in the dogs abroad. Just look at some of their dog supply sites ![]() Deana Prestigeous Yorkies

| ![]() Most of the exhibitors I have spoke with really are very busy and don't have the time for someone who is new to this like me. Or they appear they do not want you to be an exhibitor ( i am sure i am wrong but this is how it appears) I am sure they have people emailing on a daily basis regarding becoming an exhibitor. UGGGGGG this is definitely a hard!!! I will keep on trying to learn and i am sure i will keep making mistakes. You have never met me. I have brought so many new people into this sport that I have lost count. If you came up to me at a show I would quickly ask you to come and see me when judging was complete. If you say you will, I will wait for you and even look for you if I have to. I do not appreciate people touching my dog before I show and without asking but, after I show, I will put him in your arms and pull out every dog I have there for you to hold. So many people that come to ring side have Yorkies of their own. Mine is no more important as yours and I love to look at pictures and listen to people talk about their babies. Just remember that it took a lot of hard and a lot of money to get us there. Be respectful and ask if we have time to talk and ask before you hold out your hand to our dogs. Most exhibitors are nice and will take the time to talk to you. There are always exceptions. If someone is rude to you, brush their dust off of your feet and look for someone that is nice. Lisa - I will be glad to help you if I can. PM me and we will see what it takes to get you started. |

Lisa I completely understand. It is hard when you feel you are outside looking in. I remember that so well. Really there are wonderful breeder/exhibitors who will reach out to you. Right here you have several who take time to stay on this board for the simple reason of trying to be helpful when they can. I have a Yorkie yahoo group that I have started for people who are interested in showing and are indeed serious as you are. If you would like to join us send me your email address and I will send you an invite. we are a very small group and somedays we are slow. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies

| ![]() I see that yorkie breeders can be leary of potential show breeders needing mentors.. but I myself as person would not just trust anyone to mentor me neither.. it does or can work both ways Do you have any idea of the time and work it takes to mentor a new person? You are asking for my time and knowledge for free. So tell me please - how does it work both ways? |

Tammie, I just sent you an e-mail about Conner. I can't stand the thought of not have a Yorkie to show. I am going to have to find someone to sell me a puppy or at least share one with me. ![]()

| ![]() I thought about sending a PM, but decided to post instead.. I personally have owned two yorkies from the mentioned breeder.. I can tell you from my personal experience his dogs do have color, but neither of the two I owned had a correct coat.. One was strictly a soft coated dog and the other was soft coated until you got to her back hips and then she was a modified silk.. I had a couple of long time show breeders and an AKC conformation judge go over them, they all told me not to show them.. I also had a problem with one of them having bad angulation.. One of them topped out to be 8 1/2-9 lbs.. I bred the male once and he did not throw the proper angulation and both puppies had undershot bites.. There is another breeder in my area which purchased a male from him and the male came with a undershot bite and did throw alot of undershot bites.. I think there are alot of wonderful show people on this forum which you could learn from.. I have learnt that just because someone breeds/shows and has for a long time period does not make them a good mentor or breeder.. Best of Luck!~
