Most of the exhibitors I have spoke with really are very busy and don't have the time for someone who is new to this like me. Or they appear they do not want you to be an exhibitor ( i am sure i am wrong but this is how it appears) I am sure they have people emailing on a daily basis regarding becoming an exhibitor. UGGGGGG this is definitely a hard!!! I will keep on trying to learn and i am sure i will keep making mistakes.
You have never met me. I have brought so many new people into this sport that I have lost count. If you came up to me at a show I would quickly ask you to come and see me when judging was complete. If you say you will, I will wait for you and even look for you if I have to. I do not appreciate people touching my dog before I show and without asking but, after I show, I will put him in your arms and pull out every dog I have there for you to hold. So many people that come to ring side have Yorkies of their own. Mine is no more important as yours and I love to look at pictures and listen to people talk about their babies.
Just remember that it took a lot of hard and a lot of money to get us there. Be respectful and ask if we have time to talk and ask before you hold out your hand to our dogs. Most exhibitors are nice and will take the time to talk to you. There are always exceptions. If someone is rude to you, brush their dust off of your feet and look for someone that is nice.
Lisa - I will be glad to help you if I can. PM me and we will see what it takes to get you started. |
