As someone who has imported quite a few Yorkies from abroad, I will tell you that they also color dogs there. I have many breeder friends abroad.
I have found you will also find larger, more terrier type in their breeding programs. In alot of the lines you will be giving up correct texture for the dark color and I have noticed structure faults such as rounded rumps/lower tail sets. I have had my hands on many over the years because of my quest and research into the history of this breed I have eagerly studied pedigrees.
I have three girls I have kept out of one of my imported females who carries the Ozmillion, Millmoor and Fasmillion, Blairsville and Parkside lines and I am showing most promise with the offsprings of these girls. But it has taken time and work to breed these to the proper male to produce what I feel is acceptable for my program. It is a labor of love to create my line and years behind doing so.

But always keep in mind, there is also coloring and enhancing even in the dogs abroad. Just look at some of their dog supply sites
