| Yorkies.Inc. Has anyone had any experience wit Yorkies, Inc in Taunton MA. I am trying to adopt a yorkie that is listed on their site but so far it has been a difficult and very slow moving process. Any thoughts, does it usually take a long time to be approved to adopt? Karen |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hi Karen, I'm guessing this is a rescue? I don't know how long you've been in the application process but sometimes it can take a few days to even a week or possibly more for reference checks, and home inspection. If references you've listed take a long time to respond that could be lengthening this process.

Also, you have to remember that the Rescue People at times have job's and families just like every one else and and do this as well. I know with all the one's I have adopted the longest it ever took was about a month.

| I have never been able to adopt form them because I live in Tennessee, but I did apply for a precious little girl Posey. The process can take a while, but it is worth the wait. They are very good at what they do, and they really care about the home they place a puppy into. Good Luck!

| Yes the process does take a little while. I can't say exactly how they process applications, but for Yorkie911 Rescue, it takes us about 10 days to 2 weeks, and this is because it's a very thorough process which includes reviewing the application, calling Vets, calling references, calling the person that is applying for a phone chat, conducting home visits and then the meet and greets to make sure a dog is placed properly. Yorkies, Inc. happens to be a VERY good rescue, so please be patient. Most of us in this rescue field are volunteers and we do are best to get things done quickly in-between our "normal' lives! Best Wishes! |

| Yorkies Inc is not a rescue. From their own website they say that they are not a rescue but rather, an adoption agency. There is a difference. the yorkies they have dealt with were not in need of rescuing but rather most are retired breeders that the owners surrendured to ensure their pups are found a great home for the rest of their lives. here is the link, www.yorkiesinc.com |

| Hi, I am with Yorkies Inc...we try to take any Yorkie who is in need of a home whether it be an owner surrender, a retired breeder dog, or a dog from a shelter (which up here is rare that a shelter will turn a Yorkie over to us). We used the word placement as we spend a lot of time trying to place our dogs in the right home with input from their former owner or breeder as to what they feel is best for the dog they are surrendering over to us. We certainly would take any Yorkie in need of rescue and do whatever medical care is needed. We did take the" Maine Six" and would take them in again or any other dog like them again in a heart beat. We are in the process of processing your application. There really are only two of us Cathie and myself (Kerri) that run Yorkies Inc (with both of us working full time jobs) with some help fostering if needed. I have been in Maine for the week on vacation, so I have not done anything this past week for Yorkies Inc. The only thing left is your home visit...we were hoping to have someone who does home visits or us in your area complete it but as of right now that has not happened. It is school vacation week so I am thinking she also was away this week. Living south of Boston you are about 2.5 hours away so it makes it hard for me to complete the home visit without having a full day free to do it. I know you have been in contact with Cathie at least 3-4 times via email. I believe you applied on or about April 15th and then your sister applied on the 17th so we have been processing your applications along with all the other applications we have gotten. I know you are anxious but we do require a home visit and it is taking some time to set up your home visit. We look at all of our applications for each dog individually and then decide the best placement for that particular dog. An application could be approved to adopt from us, but that does not mean that they will definitely get the dog that they applied for, as we may have gotten a few good applications for that one dog and then we have to decide the best placement for that particular dog. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to contact me either PM me here or via email through Yorkies Inc.
