Senior Yorkie Talker | Raindrops are falling on my head, but that doesn't mean my Yorkie should be wet... Hey all, So I didn't think I'd need to spend a lot on a raincoat for Shelby - (going on 6 lbs.) - but the XS coat from local big pet shop hiked up into her armpits (sorry, girl, took me a while to realize you weren't being difficult - you just were being forced into that robot action - although the rest of the coat fit just right! You were very patient with me!). The S size dragged on the ground and was totally not practical. So, where should I go (and yes, of course I'll spend more!) to get a lightweight raincoat that will actually fit her and keep her from coming home soaked when we just went around the block? (she's a trouper!) Alec |

| I'd suggest some of the toy dog clothing websites. Just Google Yorkie and tiny raincoat or something like that and you should find some. They should be able to fit her if you email or text them her measurements.

| Etsy is a handmade (and vintage) website and have some doggy dresses to die for! The folks on there do a lot of custom work and would use your dogs measurements...I haven't seen rain jackets but I haven't actually looked! I think I will just for fun now good luck!

| I just bought Katie a Hurrta raincoat. It came today, and we tried it out in a heavy mist. She was dry wherever the coat was. I was lucky that the store I purchased it at was having a sale on the coat during the month of March, but now it's back to full price. I knew the Hurrta coat would be weatherproof. Katie has the Hurrta waterproof fleece jacket, and we love it so much that we decided to get another of the same coat as a spare since it also was on sale. That jacket is very warm and is great in the elements. My husband has also been looking for a rain hat for Katie. Like me, he loves her so much, and really enjoys seeing her in her coats, sweaters, and hoodies.

Kidding aside, it's a matter of opportunity - although I work at home there are times when I may only have a 10-minute break between meetings so I can take Shelby at least around the block - and w/o a raincoat I can't walk her if it just happens to be raining a bit then. Also now we're in April there will be days it rains all day. She will walk gamely on when it starts raining during our walks (as I will I, I don't mind it that much) but she gets wet very fast. | |

| That seems to be the problem with all dog clothes! They are either too short in the body, or you buy the length to fit and then it's way too wide around the chest. If I buy (instead of making my own) I buy for body length and then have to make alterations to it to make it smaller around the chest. And every time I do it, I think, I may as well have made it myself from scratch.

| I'm afraid that if we tried to avoid the rain in my area we would be inside and done for nine months out of the year! we live in the Columbia river gorge outside of portland oregon and the rain is just an endless thing, a piece of your existence which you must accept and account for or be terribly unhappy about all of the time. I have learned to like shorter/closer to my ankles pants than I ever thought I would, lol and have developed a passion for boots of all types! We have a hello kitty rain jacket that is pretty adorable but we are four pounds and use potty pads so I can't say we are die hard here...

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I got Galen a Martha Stewart rain coat. It fits him great. It even has the back leg straps to keep his back dry
