I poured it on the spot cause I knew right where I wanted it, and I use the entire amount there. It will foam a little bit at first.

| Krebaum’s Formula “The Stink Buster' is the recipe I've been using for years. It's actually for getting skunk smell out of dogs, but I decided to try it out on the carpets for pet urine smell. It worked great. Only difference in this recipe is, it calls for 1/4 cup baking soda, I might try the lesser amount next time. |

| I did get it but wanted to use it before posting. I used it in my carpet steam cleaner this weekend. Works really well, smell & stain comes right out. Doesn't hurt the carpet either.

| Basically: 1 Cp Peroxide 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda 1 drop liquid hand soap I bought 6, 32 oz bottles of peroxide at walmart for .98 ea It cleaned my bedroom, closet and stairway carpets. My steam cleaner holds about 8 cups of fluid. I put the mixture in where the water normally goes and put cleaner on rinse and saturated the carpet that way. Worked really well. When dry no pee smell at all, the store cleaners never worked that well.

I have tried both of the cleaners you mentioned and I did not have good results with them at all. I don't like to use strong chemical in my home either. I am using the homemade recipe on an expensive throw rug in my bedroom and it seems to be working on that without ruining the rug. This is just another alternative to whatever you use that works for you.
